I can't resist taking a slice of the bread while it is still hot... I know it is not great to do that, but it smells and tastes SO good! I also want to point out that you did actually add pectin to your jam - lemon juice contains pectin! That is why a lot of jam recipes call for it...

4 ingredients: 1 jar (114 to 16 oz) of Italian flavored marinara sauce, 1/2 to l lb. of ground beef or pork, 1 1/2 C to 2 C any grated cheese, Knorr alfredo noodles (1-2 pkgs depending on how thick you want the middle layer. This is called Last Minute Lasagna. Cheap, quick, and easy. Brown the meat and drain. Personally, I rinse my browned ground beef or pork in a colander under very hot water to get rid of the grease. Add the marinara sauce to the meat and mix. If you choose a very plain marinara sauce, you will need to add some Italian seasoning or garlic, etc. for flavor. Cook the Knorr alfredo noodles according to pkg directions for about 7 minutes, but use only 1 C water rather than the 1 1/2 water suggested for each pkg. If you want larger portions, use two pkgs, but one pkg is fine, too, for smaller portions. Layer in a 8 X 8 greased square dish (or some other size, but smaller than a 9 X 13) as follows: Half the meat sauce mixture Half the grated cheese All of the cooked Knorr alfredo noodles Rest of the meat sauce mixture Rest of the cheese on the top Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes Serve with any side you want such as a salad or toasted garlic bread

Another use of a can of tuna in oil in winter in cold areas in case you get stranded - keep in the car a can of tuna in oil, some string, a nail, and a match. If you get stuck, make a hole in the top with the nail, stuff the thread in the hole with just a 1" piece out of the top, wait a few minutes until the string is saturated with the oil from the can of tuna, and then light the piece hanging out as a wick. This will give you some light and a small bit of heat for about 4 hours in the car. Then when you're rescued, you can eat the tuna!
