More reasons why ESPN is complete garbage. I was a big fan of Trey's. Imagine that. A guy who "talks just sports". Isn't focused on YELLING, promoting his podcast, being an influencer, but actually makes the SPORTS the center of the conversation lol. Yeah thats how it used to be. The part he mentioned about "not watching the games". Lets see, Colin "COWturd" aka Cowherd is big time "guilty as charged" of this as I suspect many others are. It's embarrassing because you can tell they're commenting off of their assistants or interns notes. I don't expect them to watch ALL the games. But at least make an effort if you're going to be critical of these teams.

ESPN sucks. I hope their entire network collapses. They only hire and promote based on how dark your skin is and fire the knowledgeable sportscasters who are mostly Caucasian. DEI-SPN is what they should change the name to. Merit and experience don’t exist within this company.

Agreed. This is a SB window. Keeping Sheppard as the Rookie DC is a recipe for disaster. I hope he proves me wrong, but these expectations are very high. Top 15 defense bare minimum is required.

It wasn't the point of attack as much is it was locating the ball after the throw and disrupting it. He needs to get his head around tracking it and being able to make a play. There were many times where he was on the CB and in the ball park to make a play but didn't which is weird because on film that was a clear cut strength of his in the draft process. He was a super fluid moving COD wise ball hawk, who could attack the ball in the air. We need to see that. He'll improve I have no doubt, but year 1 didn't really match what you see on NCAA tape at all.

A better defense would've completely changed that game. Jayden Daniels wasn't sacked and was barely pressured. Their run game set up their passing game as well. You put Aiden Hutchinson, Alim McNeil, Marcus Davenport, Derrick Barnes, Carlton Davis, and Amik Robertson (those are all starters btw) in the game and there is no doubt that the game is very different. To act like that wouldn't have made a difference would be disingenuous to say it mildly. It is what it is though and Washington took advantage of it as they should.

Finally, an intelligent sports analyst who can reasonably acknowledge of course Washington was able to take advantage of the DETROIT LIONS defense with unbelievable amount of injuries we endured. No, Washington isn't better than the LIONS, but it's all good. Next season our squad is healthy and lets run it back

I’m going to say no. He isn’t mobile and the NFL has moved on from the pure pocket passer. The Lions are one of 2-4 teams left in the NFL that have a pocket passer. Won’t cut it in today’s NFL.

Sometimes you get big energy when you make a bold move in a game if the opposition knows that's who you are and you're not changing they will find a way to capitalize on that. If there's any good thing that's come out of the loss it's that there's some reflection and some serious analysis taking place. I'm sick of hearing that's who we are because sometimes we're doing stupid things so are we stupid? They don't just hire coaches to plan and to inspire they hire them because if it was left to the team they would make every reckless decision and never be smart decision makers!

The identity of this team is smash mouth. Run run and run some more. Watch the DB's scoot up and drop the bomb 20+yard pass. You can't have any successful pass game without a run game that's at least averaging 6 yards per carry. The proof was in the playoffs when Ben dropped the running game and tried to air it out to catch up. It's not on Goff it always leads back to management, the play calling ECT. All the players do is execute and if you drop a scheme that you average 8 yards per play, it is inevitable you're going to crash out. Not on Goff at all!!!

I am 50 years old this year, since I was nine years old I've been a lions fan, so for 41 years I've watched this team underachieve, but to see that crap, was heartbreaking. I was so beyond violently angry with Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson, it seems like they were still at their job interviews, like they never came back to Detroit. I don't understand what happened, and of course the Jared Goff Factor, the one time he couldn't play like garbage, he played like garbage! This is the caveat for me, Jared Goff is going to be a problem and it needs to be addressed. For him to go out there and play like that, at home after a bye, he shouldn't even be in this city! Extremely disappointed in the entire organization, because they should have done more during the trade deadline.

Not just the trade deadline, in the offseason. We rolled into the season, with a bunch of failed position battles. No DE emerged our of Betts, Houston and other guys they were high on. Josh Paschal and Levi are still yet to breakout if they even will. I hate to piss on Brad Holmes, but the reality is Aiden Hutchinson fell into our lap at #2 and Holmes has pretty much failed to draft DL outside of Alim and Hutch, and Hutch fell to us as was a clear can't miss prospect so I really don't count him. And we failed to really develop guys well at CB, and DL for the most part. LB and safety seem to be the most consistent and deep position groups on D and the rest are question marks going forward. Beyond Coordinators we still have a ton of holes on the defense even with a healthy roster. Still need a Starting caliber DE, Still need a clear cut good backup DT, Still need a starting CB hopefully Terrion takes a big leap, last years production has to improve. Going to need Giovanni Manu to get reps and hopefully replace Decker in the near future. There's a ton of work to be done roster wise this offseason.
