Enjoyed your cataloging Annie. I'm afraid I have way far too many books to even begin to do a TBR or have my books documented. I think if you have a manageable amount then its a good thing to do as you can keep track nicely. I suppose also I am spontaneous about reading as what I might like to think I'd read today I might not wish to tomorrow. However due to my health and lots of other problems I just cant seem to read and its been several months now since I read a book from cover to cover, it upsets me and I must try and sort things out where I can have my love of books and reading as part of my life again. I wish my partner liked reading, but he doesn't which makes it harder. I always feel its a solitary activity when reading, but if he read when I was reading we'd have a shared interest. I used to read for hours in a day before and would get through a lot of books in a month when single. How do you get the balance to read, I know your partner likes books so maybe its easier? Do you ever feel guilty for reading? I know its a funny question but I often do and I don't know why. Looking forward to your next videos. Take care Annie🐱📚xx

Hello Annie, really enjoyed and needed this video, was a real pleasure to watch. Looks like you were really enjoying your Sunday coffee and cake (looked yum!) also loved your woodland creatures mug at the start. I know from other videos you suffer with a chronic illness, I did wonder if it was ME. I have had ME since 1989, its interfered with my life a lot sadly, its such a misunderstood and difficult condition. I also have other illnesses so life can be hard. I have always tried to remain positive but not always easy when poorly and in pain all the time. I think reading is a life line for me, although the last few years I have found I cant concentrate as well for reading. I'd go through several books a week and now I've not read one in months. I've had lots of life events too holding me back and lots of stress, so this hasn't helped. I think living where you do by the sea must be a soothing tonic for mind, body and soul in itself, I always feel more alive and belonging when at the coast, my dream from a child is to live by the sea, I'm trying to make it happen but so many obstacles in the way. Your books sound interesting, wonder how you got on with them. I dont know much about Miranda Hart and didn't know she had ME. Your kitties grow every time we see them, they must be great comfort. Your walk looked great, I try and have a walk daily, but lately its not been happening so much, had snow here today and its very cold outside, I suppose its a change from all the rain. I find a walk is good to help my body and gives me a space to think things over too, puts some things into better perspective. I am off to watch your other video, not been on YT past week or so have had a virus so on top of my ME its hard to do things. Take care Annie and thanks for being here and for being you. Lots of love xx 💖💖xx

Hello Gemma, once again lovely to hear from you. I'm so glad you enjoyed 🥰 ME is definitely a hard beast to fight on a daily basis, my thoughts are with you as a fellow person with ME. I completely agree on reading being a life line. Sometimes when life feels unbearable when you cannot even get out of bed due to pain, reading feels like a big warm hug. I adore living where i do, however like everything, it has it's drawbacks but yes - being a maximum 10 minute drive away from the sea is incredibly soothing. I cannot lie, i'm still making my way through the books but 'I haven't been entirely honest with you' by Miranda Hart has such wisdom packed into it i don't mind at all taking my time with it. I feel so validated but so inspired. I highly recommend it. The kitties are forever growing indeed. Thank you for the love and support as always. Sending you well wishes and virtual hugs. 🤎✨

@JohnSaxon-vw5vi I understand how you are feeling and buying the books to help you. I have always been a book lover and had a lot, but when mum died my collecting just went beserk, I always found I was buying things on E-Bay, charity shops and other places, to fill a gap I suppose. My books have got very out of hand, I have over 24,000 of them and I need to declutter and then get my library back to some normality. I don't have a TBR as there are too many books to think ahead to which I'd like to read next! I found at the time buying so many books was helping me, but end of the day it was just covering up my grief and loss. I've learnt since not to buy things to compensate loss, its not easy. For me the buying was very short lived in terms of being helpful, gave me a boost at the time, then made me feel anxious and frustrated after. My thoughts are with you.

I limit my physical book library to classics. Everything else is read on my Kindle or as an audiobook through Libby, Hoopla or Audible. I notice we both have Miranda Hart’s new book and I am on the Libby waitlist for Gliff, which doesn’t publish until February 2025 in the States.
@woodlandbunny14 күн бұрын
It is truly wonderful to find someone else who utilises multiple forms of reading, especially using Libby etc. I get overstimulated quite easily in both visually and audibly so sometimes kindle and audiobooks are not best placed for me. I just need to be looking at book pages (if that makes any sense? So, I don't think anything will ever beat a physical read for me!) 🧸✨ Yes - I very recently got Miranda Hart's new book as I love her comedy and have ME/CFS as she discussing in the book. I'm currently reading it and loving it. Oh goodness, that's such a wait for Gliff.. [I honestly convinced myself it was cliff?! 😂 oops! I am very excited to read it and hope it is worth the wait for you].
@athertonca14 күн бұрын
@ I still love physical books, but my aging eyes need the flexibility to enlarge font and a built-in book light can’t be beat. I didn’t know that Miranda Hart’s book had anything to do with ME/CFS until I began reading it; I also have it. Fortunately, the Stanford ME/CFS Department is five minutes from my home. With 50% of people who have Long Covid eventually getting ME/CFS, a lot more resources for research are becoming available. Hopefully you and I, along with everyone else, will ultimately benefit.
@woodlandbunny14 күн бұрын
@@athertonca I completely understand. Whenever i’m having a particular flare up which affects my head enlarging the font and adjusting the brightness on a kindle is something I’m eternally grateful for! Oh wow that is amazing to live so close to such a resource and i’m in complete agreement with you. Sadly i felt i received my diagnosis then was sent on my ‘merry way’ so a lot of self learning. If you have anything to share please do! Wishing you wellness and a wonderful day or night ❤️🩹

Hello Annie, I really needed this video, its so lovely to see your library and a glimpse of your partner😃 You have put so much thought into laying your library out, the book cases you were putting together are like the ones I have but mine are a lot taller and wider, good choice. I like them as the colour is dark wood. I love how you have your plants and cuddlies here and there, it seems such a special space. As I have said before my library and home is chaos/over run with books, but hopefully one day it will get back to a library once more. Having so many health problems I'm so limited to do jobs. I really 💖your Autumn dunagrees, so cute. The kitties certainly are growing fast, didn't seem long that they were tiny little things, its good they are able to share your book space. Sorry this is a little shorter than usual, still getting over my virus and its gone onto my chest, so everything is a big task at the moment. Trying to be kind to myself but I get frustrated so easily. I look forward to your next upload and then the book we chose, I didn't choose the one that had the most votes, but hope you have a happy time, digesting it. Much love to you xx

The kitties truly are growing exceptionally fast, i cannot believe how much so and their personalities are also developing more and more every single day. I hope the virus goes away soon and that you can make a speedy recovery from it. Please be kind to yourself but i understand your feelings of frustration. Take care of yourself as always. Hello Annie, really enjoyed a look around your library and cosy space. I feel quite envious as I used to have a well organized and tidy library set up, but now having way way far too many books here, they are just all piled up literally, no more room on shelves or floor. Trouble was I had far too many, then when I lost dad I had alot of his books and some of mums (she never had so many) then I carried on buying. So I am over run with books and it drives me mad, cos I would really love my special library room back and a relaxing space, but don't know where to start. Lovely to see your kitties and all the cuddlies, I always look out for them now😃 I have mine in genre the non fiction and the fiction by authors, apart from the swathes that are not shelved, but are in piles of genre. I don't think it matters how we organize our libraries, how it works for us and how we prefer it. I was wondering how you manage to read so much, as I have a partner and I cant read when he is about. When I was single I would read all evening from after I'd had tea often till bedtime, but seems when you have someone in the house its not so easy, or don't you find that. Sadly he doesn't share my love for words and reading, wish we could have that as a shared interest. I think I mentioned this before, but how do you get the reading balance going on, when have a partner, perhaps its an odd question. I always feel reading is quite anti social and need to be quiet and have own space to really digest a book. I was wondering have you ever thought about doing a Q&A so we can find more about you and your love for books which you might not cover in your videos. Would that be something you would enjoy doing? I can tell your library/safe space is very special and important to you and I am so glad that you have this. Take care xx
@woodlandbunnyАй бұрын
Hello Gemma! Awh, i am so glad you enjoyed. Oh goodness, it really does sound like you are overrun with books everywhere. To be completely honest - that is a dream of mine to become a collector of sorts and to own lots of books that all have special places in my heart [it is from a childhood wish of mine]. However, i can completely understand why it can also be overwhelming, please don't be too hard on yourself! I hate to give unsolicited advice but perhaps it's good to just begin one stack at a time after all, one step is better than none right? Oh - as to how i read so much, i can honestly say it is for the sake of my sanity haha! It really helps my mental health and i am always at my best when lost in the world of books; talking about them, reading different genres and researching plots/ my next read too! I do in fact have a Partner and live with them. In all honesty, this is completely in relation to my personal situation but both myself and partner are respectful of one another hobbies and interests. However, we always make time to do things together too [share interests] that way we ensure quality time is still being spent. It's all a balance as i'm sure you can agree. To answer your question honestly, my reading dips and hikes, sometimes i am reading a lot and all the better for it but other times situations occur and i just cannot prioritise it, which is do somewhat suffer for but that is life. I am reading wherever and whenever i can hehe, that has been a habit every since i was a child! I feel completely flattered at the prospect of a Q&A however, fear i would not be of interest to many people. My honest main goal with this platform is to provide a safe space to those who need it, talking all things bookish, embracing your inner child and living a cozy life along the way! I do also like to keep certain parts of my life private too but perhaps something i'll consider in the future. Thank you. As always, i am grateful to you for taking the time to comment, watch and be a lovely person. I hope wherever you are, whatever you're doing, you have a wonderful day or night! 🧸✨

@@woodlandbunny Hi Annie, I just typed a reply, then my laptop crashed-agh! Yes its great to have such a large collection of books and be a collector but when you live in small home, its very challenging. The thrill of going out, finding books and bringing them back, I did for many years. The majority of my books are second hand and I have so many different authors and genres. Yes taking a pile at a time is good advice, however they just end up in a pile somewhere else, as I have no shelf space left and no room for anymore to be built. I have to get rid of some I know and earlier this year sorted a good 500 to give to charity, but when dealing with so many, its like a grain of sand in a desert! I've always been a reader since a small child and loved books. I asked about you reading with a partner, yes its good you have space for your own interests and then time together. I cant seem to get that balance. I did have alot of interests/hobbies but last few years they have dropped to the way side. Been years literally of problems and I suppose life is very topsy turvy. When single I would read daily and get through multiple books a week, but now, sadly very few. I must try and change this. I've got a nasty virus at the moment on top of my other chronic health problems, so I did think be chance to cuddle down with my fluffy bunny and read, but head to muzzy to concentrate. The Q&A would be nice, but understand if you didn't wish to. Obviously we could keep it bookish and in line with your channel, cosy, light and a safe space. I didn't mean it so could be nosy about your personal life, as I appreciate you are quite a private person and that is fine. But I'm sure your followers would like to ask a few things book orientated, I know I would, and I know they would be interested. You're a lovely soul and I dont think you give yourself enough credit. Anyway I'm going to get a drink and try and rest, look forward to your next video which I think is already up. Take care and thanks for a lovely channel and something to look forward to. xx

Hi Annie, really glad you got into this book and couldn't put it down. There are some books that you just need to keep on reading, they are so addictive. What a great place to read, on the beach, the waves coming in over the shore. You are lucky to live in walking distance of the beach, its been my life's dream to relocate to Cornwall but its never happened. Finances are a problem so very limited where I could move to realistically. Then there is my massive book collection, which I don't wish to downsize, but I'd have to, unless won the lottery and then I could have more than one library and a separate study-oh I can dream. Love the bear dressed up as a pumpkin, made me smile. You'll probably think I've got a cuddly obsession or something, but always notice them in your videos. I also at the start seen a lovely bunny, rabbits and hares are my favourite animals and am potty about anything to do with them. I wonder if these two have names? I am supposing from your channel name that rabbits hold a fondness for you too🐰💖 Look forward to your next video. Take care.

Hello Annie- ooh for some reason I missed this video, great to catch up, see the kitties and hear you talk to us. Sorry you had another migraine, I suffer with them so know how bad they can be. I know that use a Kindle as well as books, do you find the screen aggravates your eyes/head? I find screen time limiting, but some people say Kindles have a different screen to computers and better on the eyes, is this true? I always smile when I see your tiger sat by you, he's amazing, what's his name. I love my special cuddlies too. Its disappointing isn't it when you start a book with high hopes and they don't turn out how you'd imagined. I don't see the point of finishing them if get so far along and just doesn't resonate. I don't know if its just me, but I often find books and DVD's which have rave reviews/hype and/or won awards, I don't really gel with, but ones that don't have the hype are much more interesting, well written etc. Do you like audio books, having a narrator reading the books? They can bring another dimension to the book world and can be very relaxing. I used to listen to them a lot but haven't done so for some time, I'd like to get back into them and also my beloved book reading, as had such a lot of problems, ill health etc that not read much for some time and I do really miss it. Books and words rule📖-lovely to see your kitties too, they don't stay small long do they. 🐱 Take care of yourself Annie and look forward to your next uploads.xx

I don't get them often so can't speak on the screen of the kindle helping them but i found when i had mine, it made it easier to read as i could make the text larger and turn down the brightness. Awh, i'm so glad my tiger makes you smile - his name is socks! He was my gift to myself for reaching 1,000 subscribers! I don't often gravitate to audiobooks to be honest, sometimes find myself zoning out and thinking of other things! I much prefer to read a book psychically and set my own pace. I'm so sorry to hear about your ill health - big hugs as always, Gemma! The kitties are growing every, single day and cannot believe by how much. @@woodlandbunny Hello again, thanks for getting back to me. Regards the Kindle, yes I suppose its goo as size of font can be altered and screen brightness, that helps on the eye/head and I do that on my laptop anyway. Glad you dont suffer regular with migraines they are not nice. Mine are mainly under control now with medication (I was having them almost daily) but I do get them still. Ooh Socks what a unusual name, it suits him, so sweet when he's sat with you reading. That was nice you rewarded yourself for 1,000 subscribers-well done on that achievement too. I understand exactly what you mean about zoning out with audio books, I do that too or if listening to a podcast or radio, although most of the time I stay tuned in. I am known for my mind to keep wandering anyway, so suppose its inevitable. I think audio books is a good alternative to watching. I have ME amongst other health conditions and it effects me eyes quite alot. I began with talking books big time a few years back now when I went through a spell when I couldn't read at all or watch tv, the only light I could bare was a candle. The audio books kept me company and I still was able to 'read'. I used to get them regularly from the Library, but they never used to get many new titles in I enjoyed, so I started buying them 2nd hand (they are ridiculously dear new) and also joined a free audio book service. Its a long time since I listened to one, but do find them comforting or to put on when doing some housework, to take away the tediousness of that. Thanks for the hugs Annie, always appreciated. I'm not doing very good at the moment and trying to be kind to myself but I do get very frustrated when not able to get on with things. I really enjoy your uploads and always very happy when you put a new one up 🥰 Lots of love to you, the kitties, Socks and Tree. xx

Annie, a beautiful upload of your home with such gorgeous decor and bits and bobs (love the dinosaur-what's his name?) and so lovely to see you are close to the sea. I know you said in one of your videos that you live on an Island off Britain, must be good. Its always been my dream to be coastal but circumstances always prevents it from becoming a reality. What a good collection of books TBR and excited for you that you love Autumn and the colour Orange. Autumn is a nice season but makes me start to feel more down as know winter will be round the corner. I think you put yourself down, saying you are not very good at book recommendations or summing up, I think you come across very well💖 Thanks for the video, was just what I needed today. Great to see the kitties, how are they getting on? Your home looks so welcoming, homely and cosy, buts mine to shame! Take care and look forward to hearing what you have to say and show soon. Warm hugs xx🤗

Oh you're always so lovely. The dinosaurs name is Trees! 🌱 I do adore living on my island and feel very lucky to do so. However, it does have it's ups and downs as with all areas. I completely understand you in respect to knowing Winter is around the corner, it is a lovely but yet hard month. Everything feels so dark and cold for such a long time ✨ Thank you for the lovely note on my book recommendations skills - you are very kind . The kitties are well! Very cheeky, always up to something. However, make life so wonderful with them in it! ⋆.💐⋆

@@woodlandbunny-thanks for your reply, sorry only just responding, things not good right now. Oh what a smashing name for your dinosaur-Tree, he's so cute! Kittens are always up to something and very inquisitive by nature, they do seem to like learning from the word go. I see a difference in them already, size wise. Yes having animal companions is lovely, I don't anymore as I cant stand it when the time comes to say goodbye. Although I know I m missing out on so much love and company. Lots of love xx

Nice review. As someone who has read most of the Cosmere, I think you might want to re-read the ending (and maybe the encounter with the Dragon) once you have gotten further into the universe (if you are diving deeper into it). That should help you understand better what happened there.

Oh amazing! Thank you. I’m so glad you commented as i felt i was missing something. I’m 100% going to be trying to read more of Sanderson. Do you have a suggestion on reading order for a newbie? 😊
@Javifaa2 ай бұрын
@@woodlandbunny Not suggestions, because the universe is open enough to make them endlessly arbitrary, but guidelines: 1st, and most obvious, read each series in order. This also includes the different eras of Mistborn. 2nd, only start Stormlight if you are ready for an epic series (finishing Mistborn Era 1 should suffice). 3rd, consider taking a break between the Mistborn eras, the timeskip can trip you up if you go from one to the other without a buffer. 4th, leave The Sunlight Man (and any future book/series that relies heavily on Cosmere connections to advance the main plot and/or develop the main character) for later. 5th, and most important, start with what interests you the most (while keeping in mind the earlier points). The books are written so you don't really need to read anything else that it's part of that series (besides anything that fits point 4), so don't worry too much about the order. Or you can read them in publication order, it fits well enough the other points. Ah, and consider getting Arcanum Unbounded early on. You might not be able to read everything at that point (luckily, the book has spoiler warnings at the start of every story), but the standalone stuff there is really nice, and it's the most cost-effective way of getting The Emperor's Soul (one of the best cosmere stories), Mistborn Secret History (a really important read for spoiler reasons) and Edgedancer (Stormlight 2.5, not that important but a nice read that help understanding some of the minor cast members). TL;DR: with some exceptions, pick what interests you the most and don't stress too much about it. And if it is on Arcanum Unbounded, pick that book.

@@Javifaa Wow - thank you so much for this detailed and meticulous response. I'm am going to note this down to refer to when i commence my journey into the Universe. I mustn't lie, it is somewhat overwhelming but excited to just beginning to read them all and discover the treasures they are! Thank you once again.
