i ended up loving this book as well, the description was so vivid i felt like in was there in that damp and dismal house, loved the little romance too!

I'm so glad - the descriptions were outstanding, the depicters of every aspect of the house made me feel right there in the moment. The romance was such a fundamental aspect too and loved how it ended with a touch of women rights!
