The karma you speak of is coming to the U.S. sooner than we know it. I’m so happy you’re not here. Most of us need to be planning our exit eventually if not immediately.

Your vivaciousness would make anyone else feel like a gray rock, if they don't love themselves enough. It's lonely at the top. What you said about you being the good thing made me tear up. Almost everyone has been jealous of me throughout my life. You don't settle for people who bring you down. That's why you are alone. Trust me it's better than being a therapist for someone, just to have a body around.

Thanks for your openness. Many of us can relate. It's a challenge when you don't have the headstart of having a solid stable childhood and family of origin. I'm relying on my Christian faith to get me through. The happy marriage success rate is low like, 20%. The chances of two goodhearted, loving people finding each other is truly a miracle these days. It's possible but it might take longer to show up than expected. It's sad because healthy marriage is the cornerstone of a healthy society. Broken marriages cause generations of broken people and broken societies. Maybe starting a foreigner community and encouraging other foreigners to move to your community will help with loneliness.

Thanks for this very relatable video! I am black Canadian and wishing I could move to Mexico or at least snowbird there for the winters and I am around your age and single too. I think that in Mexico, the sense of community is MUCH better than in Canada. No neighbors will invite others to the birthday parties here that's for sure. Canada is about the rat race, eating, and sleeping. Unless you have a huge, loving family and network no or in a healthy relationship in Canada, it's hard. It is lonely because everyone is too busy working to survive that there's not much time to enjoy life. People in Canada think I'm crazy when I say I which I could move to Mexico. There is no perfect place on this Earth but I believe it's best to go where you feel happier. Mexico is it for you. You mentioned so many wonderful things about it but I get that there are challenges. I think learning Spanish is key for fitting in with locals especially if you are living in a remote area with few foreigners/expats/immigrants. It seems like the English-speaking who are the happiest in Mexico have the ability to mix with other foreigners as well as the locals. Let a local families adopt you! Go to their parties and enjoy them! Mexicans and are such happy people because of their large happy families and social connections. Money buys comfort but it does not buy happiness. Try focussing on gratitude and helping others. That will take the focus off the negative things and help you find joy wherever you are. You have so much going for you...beauty and intelligence! You already have it all! God bless!

Loneliness happens to everyone everywhere. Canada is not what is was 20 years ago. Too much immigration ruined it. Citizens and life long tax payers are a minority now. Expensive as hell! I too, feel lonely in my own Country. No friends, mist passed away or moved, very tiny family circle that i dont see. Fiancé passed away 9 years ago. Approching retirement and don't know what to do? Hang in there, you're not alone.

Regarding your point that people don't want to move to Mexico in the US... I've heard it said "the best and brightest" aren't illegally entering the US. Very unpolitically correct to say, but I wonder if there is truth to that.

i feel like this about the USA my husband want to stay here and i want to get out. Im afraid of being a "Mexican American" here in the US. im afraid for kids going to school. there not even in public school but im so scared. im stressed, always sick, food is terrible. im a nurse and i cannot survive on my income. my husband has his own online business and we still cant afford alot of stuff. we have a mortgage and bills go up so much and often im just so done with living here. i used to be a proud Texan and now im just despressed being here.

Hi Adelle, I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’ve watched this video 5x already because it’s too relatable and you’re literally the only KZbinr that’s talking about it well in depth at least. I live in the U.S. and it’s hard for me to see a future for myself here too. I live in Texas too not even Cali or New York and I feel that it’s still so expensive here. I’m currently in school “grinding” towards my goal, but what is that goal exactly? Working to the bone to pay these outrageous bills? And owning a home? 😂 unless I get married that seems like a distant dream here too especially with all the loans I’ve racked up. I WISH I WAS MAKING $4 and still be a home owner. The U.S. is slowly collapsing and it’s really eerie. I guess all we can do is cope with how things are. It’s out of our control.

I'm working on moving to somewhere in South America...BTW, I'm a mature, single and childless woman too. Anyhow, I'm still trying to figure out my financial situation, so I can escape this hell permanently. I'm willing to face the loneliness, just can't go back to Canada.

I also moved to Mexico in 2020 and sometimes I experience the same loneliness that I did back in the states despite the fact that my life is unquestionably better here. It makes me sad to read some of the nasty comments by people who feel the need to tell you how to live your life and how to feel about the life you are living. Frankly I think it's refreshing that you're being very open and generous sharing the very mixed experience of being an immigrant here in Mexico. It's true, there are far too many videos out there making it sound like it's absolutely paradise and although it is really wonderful, it is far from perfect. I too grieve for the country and the experience I once knew in the United States that no longer exists and that my children will never get to experience. I wish you the best of luck.

You are an interesting, strange, and view life from a very different lens. I kinda like you, but you probably are not equipped to answer my question. You've spoken about where your headspace is, all over the place. The world is in flux. You know Canada's horrible history. You may not know about the Americas, and you wrote a book about thinking you were white. All I see is a mix of melanin and Filipino. If white men are your preference, here's what's up. Trump, the Federalist Society, MAGGA, and white suppremacists are attempting to start civil wars everywhere. Are you prepared for that? Has it crossed your mind, and if being with a white man, what do you think he will do, or which side do you think he will choose? 🤔
