I'm a bit relieved to hear this. I'm not an expert Fish owner, but I love my little Betta fish. I feel terrible because I have rinsed my filters every week with the sink hose and I rinse it intensely until the filter looks clear. If it looks really dirty I've even used hot water. :( I didn't know I wasn't supposed to and I feel like I've been messing up the bacteria all this time. I thought doing so made the filter more effective and would keep the water cleaner. I feel like such a dummy now. My poor Fish Thanks for your video.

It also kills Velvet, I put 15 ML in 7.5 gallons to relieve my fish until I find a suitable solution. IchX also treats Velvet. I don’t have shrimp.

4:36 from my personal experience: outside the larval stage where they're all just dots, just look at the way they move. Seed shrimp move like they have a tiny motor, it's a very even speed. They like to zoom along the floor or surfaces like a roomba and are strongly attracted to light. Copepods move in bursts, like they have low fps. Try to get them with a pipette and they just zip away.

Just started cycling my first tank, this video has been super helpful! After the first three days I saw a few extremely tiny snails (around a millimetre long) that probably came with my plants so hopefully they also help out

insta start works best with a bigger tank with a little amount of fish bc the amount of Amonia they produce is very minor compared to the volume of water in the tank

I just got this light and the blue for moonlight doesn't work. I tried everything to get it to come on alone without the other colors but it simply won't. Instead the red light is the moonlight by default. Am I going something wrong? Or do you think it could be defective? Not sure if you know but I figured I'd ask.

12% Peroxide is used in the US by our agriculture, along with 30% vinegar. It is approved as a nontoxic item for food safety and medical safety. Thats why we can get it everywhere without a prescription. peroxide is h2 o2. 2 hydrogen and 2 oxygen. It breaks down into h2o (water) and an extra oxygen molecule. If your parameters are off it will not turn into water n2h2 if you have ammonia. This is toxic. If you have nitrite, it will create peroxynitrite (onoo-) and if you have an acidic water can cause weakened immune systems and disease. If you have nitrates, it would he fine unless it interacts due to ph being off, or heavy metals. Those of you saying it killed your fish, i would ask what your parameters were? Its not a lazy method to clean a tank. He doesnt have a problem because he uses such a low dose aimed at his problem areas.

Bruh. I have waaaay too many males in all 3 of my shrimp tanks. I’ve become an expert at catching them in general, but how on earth do I separate the males?
@po.po.poquito
@po.po.poquito 28 күн бұрын
I buy all of mine for $40 a batch (25) from another club member near Windsor but he won’t separate for sex or size. It sucks because I’d love to add more to my micro predator tank I have so the adults can keep up enough survivors to get a good pop going. It appears the first 2 berried females I had have about 10 survivors (too big for bumblebee gobies and chili rasboras to eat) that I’ve counted. I added 30 on Halloween from one of his batches to this one and there are about 10+ adults left.

I don't get all this. I have a dozen tanks and I always add fish usually within a day or 2!! I also hardly every water change unless tank looks bad! I do use live plants and I use sand bottoms sometimes i will add a instant tank cap full but i never have problems with adding fish right away!!! I sometimes will use used filter or sponge filter!!! But overall I rarely lose fish now and again I will lose one but its not usually at the start. Just my take on it!

I've watched the plethora of nitrogen cycle and ammonia treatment vids that YT has to offer, and I think I finally found some answers with your video. I had a PH crash about a month ago and its been one problem after the next since then. My plants were all melting back and completely wiped out a few of them then my ammonia was dancing at 8ppm the last two weeks. 2x a day heavy water changes and fish in cycle treatments has finally got me seeing light at the end of the tunnel but I had still been at a loss as to what started this lovely domino effect disaster. Luckily, I only lost 3 out of over 100 fish. Thanks for the info sir, now its time to go ride my bicycle

Am I correctly reading 3% hydrogen peroxide (HP) on the bottle? So you're using 3% per 10 gallons, from a solution that's already only 3% HP? Not criticising, just making sure I've got that correct. I don't want to use a 3% of a stronger solution.

The Microworm (Panagrellus redivivus) that was and is widely cultured on Baker's Yeast inoculated cereal based media as baby fish food, long before Vinegar Eels were widely cultured for this purpose is also a nematode. Tubifex, Blackworms (Lumbriculus), and Whiteworms (Enchytraeus) are also annelid worms. Some species of Planaria in the family Dugesiidae have two pigmented eyes that bear an amusing resemblance to cartoon Human cockeyes (Dugesia spp., Cura spp., etc.).
