Hello! Thanks For the Review, i have the Tourbosound ip1000 v2, i use my Tourbosound ip1000 for live band plus drum hookup, with all the instruments hookup to the tourbosound ip1000, i love the easy setups, sounds awesome, takes the punishment of all equipment plus the Voice, in my view point Bose are far the best but for a guy like me with low income this Tourbosound ip100 v2 works and sound just as great as the Bose, with no feedbacks, no hassle of over over powering each others sounds, with the Peavey pv10bt i love my Tourbosound ip1000v2, if i had the income i would get the bose but this well do for the band i havem Thank You Much for the Review, Your Awesomw!!! "The clarity is not there". WOW! Maybe try using a digital mixer and some EQing. I'm a sound engineer and using a lot of different systems. The IP2000 is perfect for intimate gigs even when mixing artists. Crystal clear to me. And I'll choose the IP2000 above the IP1000. The IP1000 lacks on low frequency.
@jayallen3145

I agree 100%! Plus, with you being an engineer too, we are fully aware of "how" the DSP is being used matters far more than what speaker is being used. I use digital parametric EQ's and simply tweak with the built in DSP. I have had die hard Bose fans, EV fans, or simply insert "die hard fan" of any speaker, and when I turn on an antiquated system with proper equalization, they are amazed at the sound. People who use blanket statements like "this is not a bose killer" are REALLY saying I am sound ignorant. YES! 100% If you are not sound educated, and you MUST set it and forget, then I can see the attraction of a Bose system. Being in the business for 38 years, running sound for national acts, and being a Professional DJ as well, I know for a fact that HOW you use a system matters far more than WHAT system you use.

I carry the sub with one hand! It's not heavy! I believe it is a Bose killer on several levels. Much better bass/bottom end, very clear mids and tops when eq'd properly. Extremely loud and more powerful than the Bose and of course the Bose cost is from another planet!

Always loved that album art. Btw, Pedro Bell was the Funkadelic album cover artist RIP. He had that marker pointillism style and created the famously censored “Electric Spanking of War Babies” cover. It was close but I went for the bose compact for the extra $300. The ip1000 has that little control screen in the back..very hard to deal with but for those who are still interested, theres an app you can get to a ipad or phone to control the volume,e.q. etc from the app just like the big money systems...I use the tonematch for the compact...if only the bose had the tablet app...now youre talkin! Lol...good luck all. Barry singer, comedian, impressionist NYC.

I've heard the Bose version of this and I do not like it at all. There is no air at all to Bose speakers. I've head the L1s and even the new 812s and I don't like them at all. Turbosound has always been about warmth and still maintaining some air -- but still being very warm and having a natural sound..

Thanks for the quick mention that this isn't a Bose killer. If possible, can you expand on this? I am looking to buy a portable PA. I am a guitarist; I play acoustic and do amp modeling on electric. Hey guys...been watching this thread and thought Id pipe in on my personal experience with both Bose and the ip's. I have the L1 Model 2's and thanks to Darryl lol went for it and bought a pair of ip2000's. Honestly I love them both in different ways. The Bose system I thought id sell after I got the ip's and here I am still with it...just can't part with the Bose. 1 I already own it...and 2 there is nothing else like the sound. However I use the Bose for solo acoustic...having said that I have used the Bose also outdoors for a 3pc with drums bass and guit and just run vocs through it and it rips! BUT...if you run more than vocs in it and crank it...it chokes! It almost begins to compress and squash the sound when I put say Keys...Acoustic...bass and some vocs all in it. Too much...but just vocs and acoustic...awseome. Also the Bose rocks not only 180 degrees but also weather you are sitting down as a listener or standing up. Great dispersion. NOW...ip's...If you have nothing to start with...you can not beat the price and sound of the ip's!! If I didn't have my Bose I would have bought an ip2000 and never spent 3 grand for the model 2 ever. Just crazy money. Like most have said the ip's are SOLID and have plenty of head room. I have used these for acoustic solo/duo as well as for full band 4pc bass drum guitar vocs and backing tracks. As most have said you have to work the eq of which(again thanks to DA lol) I bought an xr18 and then push the EQ on each channel and it sounds GREAT!! The ip's will handle more input then the Bose with more insturmentaion plus vocs..but again has its limits to where it begins to get overwhelmed. I have run both drums as a band and acoustic...big room and small rooms. Naturally the best was with vdrums...bass...direct guitar and vocs all in it and sounded like the CD! Awesome. When I do bigger rooms I pull out the guitar and bass and run just vocs with a kick mic and does awesome. I guess you just have to pick your battles with the both systems. They are NOT a full PA...when I want big thats when I roll the band truck and set up the QSC KLA's and give it hell. But obviously can expect that big sound from small gear. So bottom line for vocal performance and acoustic...both rock...ip's blow away Bose for $$ value to performance ratio and average listener...but for the extreme most amazing sound I LOVE my bose and probably won't sell it soon lol...might even experiment and buy the bigger subs and another stack to really see what it does and if its worth it. Sorry for the novel hope this helps other muse's before spending their hard earned $$ Best to all... -e-

Eric Grant At one time, I had Bose L1 Model II's on each side, with each L1 having double B2 bass modules. The sound was fantastic when everything went direct through a Behringer X32 rack. The sound was loud but not full PA compared to QSC KLA's. When hauling 2 Bose L1's and 4 Bose B2 bass modules, the system is no longer portable, and cartage is worse than a traditional main/sub system. My advice - don't buy another Bose stack and additional B2 bass modules. Sell your Bose while you can still get a good price.
@MrDarm03
@MrDarm03 7 жыл бұрын
Eric Grant Don't give up on using acoustic drums with a line array system. Drum EQ is a little trickier with a line array system, but it is possible to make them sound great. Line arrays will expose a deficient mic more than traditional systems. I use a Shure 91A on the kick and Sennheiser evol on the snare, and two pencil condensers for overheads. If placing line arrays at the back of the stage to use as FOH/monitors, pull the overhead faders down to half of what you normally would.

DA...yeah good stuff you said below. It becomes that point of trying to get the KLA sound with stuff that just isn't KLA size and power lol. PLUS...then if you put the math to it I'd have almost $6 grand into a "small" portable Bose system that might still struggle anyways in the medium rooms. I agree the right way is to either go big or go home lol...either live with a 12" sub and ip2000 kind of sound or bring in the big guns and make it happen. Its just tricky when you get that in betweener where its a packed loud city club or only a 3/4pc Pay room where you don't wanna lug the gear...or don't have the space...or have available parking for truck plus want to get in and out quick. Thats where just being happy with the ip2000 sound and making the best of it come in. Dont get me wrong I LOVE the speakers or I would have returned them...just an is what it is mindset. Kind of have to think of it like a speakers on sticks gig really..but you do get some bass out of the 12's. No regrets here :)

Can I get an opinion from both DA and Eric. I run sound for a traveling Church band. we play in a different church every week. I am currently running 2 Bose L1 Classics (model 1) with the support of a JBL PRX powered 18" sub. I use a X18 Air for simplicity and everything sounds great. Guitar and bass use small amps but I run everything through this system including kick mic and overhead. My issue is that some of these churches are really pushing the limits of my Bose towers (getting red clip light very often). I'm wanting to upgrade my Power/Output. would a pair of the IP1000s or IP2000 be a good upgrade for me to replace the Bose?? I'd probably still use my jbl sub to help with the kick drum..
@MrDarm03
@MrDarm03 7 жыл бұрын
Lee Brooks Use a pair of iP2000's. You may find that you don't need the JBL sub. Max the iP sub level and set bass eq for +1 or +2 db. Set the overall gain on the iP2000's to +10db. You can ring-out feedback from the system using the XR18's RTA on the main channel. If using the iP2000's behind the band for monitors and FOH, you have feedback potential when driving the speakers hard. Simple solution is to use a Harman GoRack between the XR18 and the iP2000's, and set the XR18 eq flat. GoRacks are now on sale for $29, and are an effective anti-feedback device. The GoRack also gives you a volume knob. This will allow you to set the XR18 main mix at 0 db and control volume from the GoRack. I didn't mention iP2000 Bluetooth speaker linking because I am not a fan. It's reliable but using a phone or tablet is awkward to control volume. Bluetooth connection can get tenuous at over 20 feet apart, and a user may experience a disconnect during a show.

Although I haven't owned a Turbosound IP series system, the features/performance/price does look good on paper compared to the HK Nano system. I've got a HK Audio Nano 300 and I've never been happy with it, but it was one of those "you gotta start somewhere purchases". The IP1000 looks to be reasonable value (bang for buck factor). These also have Bluetooth connectivity, which could be a nice feature (not sure if there's any 'gotchas' with that though). I'm tempted to sell my HK Nano 300 and get the IP1000, but on the other hand a single iQ8 also tempts me. In the meantime, I shall keep researching. Many thanks for sharing your video Marcus!
