I carry the sub with one hand! It's not heavy! I believe it is a Bose killer on several levels. Much better bass/bottom end, very clear mids and tops when eq'd properly. Extremely loud and more powerful than the Bose and of course the Bose cost is from another planet!

Although I haven't owned a Turbosound IP series system, the features/performance/price does look good on paper compared to the HK Nano system. I've got a HK Audio Nano 300 and I've never been happy with it, but it was one of those "you gotta start somewhere purchases". The IP1000 looks to be reasonable value (bang for buck factor). These also have Bluetooth connectivity, which could be a nice feature (not sure if there's any 'gotchas' with that though). I'm tempted to sell my HK Nano 300 and get the IP1000, but on the other hand a single iQ8 also tempts me. In the meantime, I shall keep researching. Many thanks for sharing your video Marcus!

You said that for a bigger crowd you'd put the ip1000s on a pedestal. What worked for me was when I put them on an 18" subwoofer. I did that for a hip hop gig.

Thanks for the quick mention that this isn't a Bose killer. If possible, can you expand on this? I am looking to buy a portable PA. I am a guitarist; I play acoustic and do amp modeling on electric. So I am trying to do some research, but there isn't much comparison out there between Bose and Turbosound.

Hi, I wish more retailers sold these in stores where you could demo in person. I would suggest ordering like I did. Test and return if not to your liking. All the best!

The Bose sounds over processed to me. The Turbos sound more natural.

Hi Marcus, Thanks for providing all this info. Since you have chosen the ip1000 over the ip2000's do you have any regrets? Do they thump enough on the dance floor as a DJ (if you were to compare them to a set of EV-ZLX 12Ps without subs). Do you feel they fall short in any way? I'm thinking about getting a pair of ip1000's for the compact size and price point but want to make sure i'm taking the right decision and not kicking myself later for not grabbing the bigger ones. Another question: Does the 1000's sub have a handle on the top for carrying? - Thanks in advance!

Hi Jamie, Thanks. Yes there is a carry handle on the top of the ip1000 sub cabinet. So far I have no regrets. Sine the wattage is the same, I chose the 1000's over the 2000's for size reasons/cargo load in my SUV. As a mobile Dj, I find that they are great for the crowds that I'm playing for 200 and less.So far I have done two weddings with them and no complaints. They sound good with lots of bottom end, more than my Bose Compacts. I hope that helps.

I went ahead and ordered 2 ip100's. So far I've used 1 at a small event at a restaurant for a crowd of 50 ppl. I must say if you crank the bass on them and eq them right, they sound very nice. I was pushing them half way at the peak of the night, they could take a lot more. Looking forward to using 2 of them for a larger crowd of 300 with a set of 15 inch subs in the middle :) The only thing I was disappointed with is the fact that you can't send the analog signal to the next ip1000 through Bluetooth. Only the Bluetooth signal through your phone. I was hoping to daisychain through bluetooth, but other than that... Very Nice!

Any luck linking the systems together via Bluetooth? I've been told they must be of like type (two iP1000's/2000). Thanks!

I would take a look at the Fishman line array. I've heard one, as well as their small acoustic/pa amps and they sound spectacular. IMO they sound a lot better then the Bose.

You get more bass and volume from the Turbosound speakers. I use my Bose compact for smaller audiences where bass is really not needed. I hope that helps.

Jeez, heavy? Okay. Sure is lighter than carrying around 100 lbs.+ subs, heavy top boxes, and a rack of processors and stuff.

"The clarity is not there". WOW! Maybe try using a digital mixer and some EQing. I'm a sound engineer and using a lot of different systems. The IP2000 is perfect for intimate gigs even when mixing artists. Crystal clear to me. And I'll choose the IP2000 above the IP1000. The IP1000 lacks on low frequency.

I agree 100%! Plus, with you being an engineer too, we are fully aware of "how" the DSP is being used matters far more than what speaker is being used. I use digital parametric EQ's and simply tweak with the built in DSP. I have had die hard Bose fans, EV fans, or simply insert "die hard fan" of any speaker, and when I turn on an antiquated system with proper equalization, they are amazed at the sound. People who use blanket statements like "this is not a bose killer" are REALLY saying I am sound ignorant. YES! 100% If you are not sound educated, and you MUST set it and forget, then I can see the attraction of a Bose system. Being in the business for 38 years, running sound for national acts, and being a Professional DJ as well, I know for a fact that HOW you use a system matters far more than WHAT system you use.

I've heard the Bose version of this and I do not like it at all. There is no air at all to Bose speakers. I've head the L1s and even the new 812s and I don't like them at all. Turbosound has always been about warmth and still maintaining some air -- but still being very warm and having a natural sound..
