If you mean the brake cartridge. Yes it is. This is to show you how to bypass that. So if you say cutting wet lumber putting it in the bypass mode keeps the wet material from triggering the brake cartridge. But be careful of fingers because your vulnerable while doing this.

Thank you Matt for such an informative video. I have 2 Walnut rings that are about the same size as the 2 you were working on and they are next in line for sanding and finishing. Where are you at in Michigan? (The T-shirt) I am in Traverse City.

So good to find your vids still up here Matt, so very cool. I do hope and pray sincerely that you and your wonderful family are doing incredibly well and are being blessed day by day. From when woodtalk began a few months before I first started listening aah how long ago now lol and I went back and listened to the first 10 or so episodes then got totally hooked, then started going through all of yours and Matt’s videos and then Shannon when he arrived, through the sad for us, glad for you time when you left the show to get on with your life with your family and from then right up until I lost my wife to leukaemia in ‘20, and through that time, you guys taught me so much wisdom and such fine techniques that you created in me a half decent fine woodworker. Maybe running into you today is Jesus telling me to get back to doing what you taught me to enjoy so very much. Not for any further compliments I may ever receive for the things I make, but simply because I’ve been given a gift and taught an amazing trade by the finest teachers and woodworkers I could ever have been exposed to. Toss in the new Matt, hey, from tree to fine cabinet, that hurts as far as setting the bar lol, one day lol, add in Rob Cosman and most definitely James Hamilton of Stumoy Nubs fame, what a cool guy and so sharp, reminds me of you in so very many ways. Anyway, thanks Matt, I do pray you and yours are well in these tumultuous times and if you’re ever down under, give us a yell, take care, Phil 😎👍

I had to cut some aluminum backed with foam today and this video made it so easy to understand how to work the bypass in order to cut the board. I read the instructions in the Saw Stop book but your video made it all perfectly clear. Thank you so much.

Fucking useless. The thought of the bypass system was the one thing that kept me thinking about holding my nose and purchasing from the shady company. Knowing the hoops I have to jump through for each and every cut it's an even hard fucking no for me. Stop being lazy about safety people and you won't need gimmicks that don't even stop the source of the vast majority of tablesaw injuries.

Forgive my lack of attention if you already addressed the following, but the plank you were planing for cupboards is 6inch thick. Do you have access to a wood mill to make horizontal cuts in think planks or did you use the wood as a thick plank for the cupboards?

Reboot the system. Unplug the saw from the power source for about ten minutes. While the power is unpluged, turn the power switch and start switch on to drain any voltage that might be stored in the system electronics. Turn both switches back off again. Plug the cord in again and start up as usual.
