Everytime I see a run like this, I wonder how you can nail the big jump at 0:48 so perfectly, I crash there almost everytime and that's without doing the 180
@Ironos

I still crash there every now and then without the clouds getting in the way. But the cancelling the hyperboost before landing has helped my consistency with landing on the track. Before my consistency was not as good at all.

There are a number of factors that contribute to having a playstyle like this. I'll keep this short as possible (because I talk a lot) and link the videos that I hope will help contribute to your understanding of the Redout II mechanics. 1. The Ridiculous Power of Durability - The more durability on your hovercraft, the longer you can boost. (Your balance of thrust and top speed are the second priority.) There are also base stats that cannot be changed on all hovercrafts which also contributes to having very long boost times. The hovercrafts that can best take advantage of this is the Buran, Koeniggswerth & the Behemoth. Asera is a small outlier but it is seen to be viable in it's unique ways. (All ships are still pretty close to one another in the balancing department so it's still pretty good for what it is.) 2. Boost Pattern - Similar to Redout 1, your boost pattern is very, (very, very) important. Taking advantage of this is another key element to gaining time at a track of your choosing. Use your hyperboosts in straights and don't forget to stack boosts (with the normal boost) for the maximum effect. 3. Cutting Hyperboosts early - Although taking advantage of this is on the advanced side of this but after you hyperboost a second or two after using it, you can recover and use your hyperboost more frequently. 4. The Worst Advice given to any player but I'll say it - There are many who are given advice and still struggle to adapt so I'm hoping that what I say can help you as much as possible with this alone. Just because you have the loadout doesn't mean you can keep up. Loadouts contribute 50% to a rise in better results, but it is the skills that make up the remaining 50% that really determine how far you go. All the the things written here are something I was aware of when I was learning the game within the Redout Discord ( discord.gg/redout ). Here, you can ask for advice and get involved on the things we do to get better at the game. I may make a video in the future on the ways to make up the gap between a newer player and an experienced player to help ease the struggle if things get frustrating. I hope this clears at least the doubts you have on extending boost times. My Tutorial guide: kzbin.info/aero/PL8ZGLUdaAUr0p-ebSXdmADI-bMM4xwCx4&si=ZjdKPlACXp2tqYrK My Time Attack Playlist (There are tracks where I use a different loadout.): kzbin.info/aero/PL8ZGLUdaAUr1DvE1aNiP9pg4ivTydqvXx&si=MoODhqXwxAaKeeBw Meta Loadout: PSLN - SSBR - HURR - HSKO - ISES - ESMA (Not the end all and be all but most players use this or have a loadout based on this one.)

@@Ironos yeah the lady says "it lacks in speed" while the tutorial actively teaches you that speed is the most important stat
@Ironos
@Ironos 27 күн бұрын
Yeah. Top Speed is the most important stat early in the campaign because of the opponent using faster setups that the player has yet to unlock. When you get towards S-League and further, Top Speed becomes less important. However, this is purely based on my experience on the campaign which is somewhere in one of my videos.

I'm not sure where you are at in the game but if you keep progressing at your own level, you will definitely improve. (Always better late than never!) All of the knowledge that I have gained up until now is due to me being in communication with the folks in the Redout Discord and adapting to their advice as I go. (Link in Description) At the end of the day, my opinion on this run hasn't changed. I get depressed every time I watch it; however I am also planning to put time to tracks I haven't practiced and come back to this after some time. I'm also editing a different type of video so expect that later this week! 😊

I will add a Q&A below that will answer some advanced questions concerning Redout II. Thanks to Dandy himself for putting those questions out there. Q1: What is a good ratio of thrust to durability if I want to boost for a long time? A: Finding a good ratio of thrust to durability depends on the hovercraft you are using. As there are hovercrafts that are made for the very opposite. (Like Sulha, Akhal, Lunare etc.) As for balancing the amount of the durability and thrust stats for the most effective performance. I suggest you try a 6:4 ratio of durability & thrust. This is so that the thrust packs a punch when you accelerate, and the hovercraft hull will withstand the heat gained from the boost. Q2: Do tracks with a lot of straights (Cloud Ocean, Caribbean Dam, Genesis etc) benefit with higher stability? A: When you exit a corner with a high amount of stability and facing the hovercraft in a straight direction, you will notice that the speed gained is higher than when you have little stability applied to the hovercraft. This becomes more apparent especially if you have a playstyle that drifts the hovercraft on straights. With enough experience, that understanding will become more apparent. Q3: What is a good ratio for steering and strafing for speeding/drifting around corners. A: For most players, having a comfortable way to handle the hovercraft is essential to making progress on this game. A lot of high-level players apply a ratio of 8:2 for steering and strafing respectively alongside a decent amount of stability for the most consistent entry and exit for tight corners. It is also worth noting that strafe is still very much necessary for dealing with all of corners in the game. Q4: Why aren’t balanced ships used among fast players? A: Most high-level players prefer to have the right amount of statistics that give them the best possible performance on every track. A lot of loadouts favour high-durability and others favour high-thrust builds. Balanced build aren’t used among high-level players due to the fact time is lost when a loadout is not specifically focused on either durability or thrust. Q5: What is a good stat distribution for a glass-cannon build? A: While it does depend on the hovercraft, the distribution that was shown earlier in the video are also recommended for glass-cannon hovercrafts like the Sulhas and the Akhals. There are high-level players that can take advantage of a build outside of the recommended stat distribution shown on the video. So if you take advantage of what you can control, you can also get the desired controls too.

Sorry for the late reply. I use no assists from the very beginning. I can say that they take time to control so you're not expected to master it right away. I'd say find a way to make yourself comfortable whenever possible. You can use training mode to find a working method and when you get comfortable, stick to it.
