I actually just bought a truck where crispy crème is located lol and I totally agree about the donuts . I’m going through this process now of putting in crossmembers. I’ve cut off the crossmembers but now I just gotta get the tube part out of the frame. Curious will a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade cut these out ? My only thought is getting them out with a grinder at the moment. Also is there a way I can contact you if I happen to need some work done ? Thanks for the informative video and you do great work !
@millwright153 күн бұрын
@@chadmichael7794 You can’t be too far away, then! A jigsaw with a metal blade would probably work just fine. Grinder with a cutoff wheel would work as well. Why do the auto makers still let this happen? There's this neat little thing called galvanizing! On a production level they must be able to keep it cost-effective. When a truck cost $2500 they were admittedly throw away. But now at $40,000 to $100,000 it should never rust out a frame to the point of being dangerous.
@millwright152 ай бұрын
Only thing that keeps me from buying a new or newer truck is knowing it will rust in 6-8 years because I live right in the rust belt!

Doesn't happen in MT where we don't use salt on the roads in winter... because of this specific reason. You can blame your city, county, and state officials... not the manufacturers.
@Motivation_-G4697 күн бұрын
@@johnny0454 Well. If GM didn’t make such crappy frames we wouldn’t have said problems with the frames. They should’ve stuck with the C frame, the one they know works and lasts a whole lot longer than the box frame. They knew it wouldn’t last as long as the C frame would. So, bad frames equals more money for the company. And better frames that last longer equals less money for the company cause we wouldn’t have to buy a new vehicle as often as we do now.
