Fantastic as usual. A video on DMX next and how you use it within Finale would be cool. Especially with using those Chinese Fire Sprayers you have. :)

will any of the firetek modules with dmx work? I have a cheap biluscon firing system with 4 channel cues. could I use one of the cues to trigger a firetek mod to start my dmx lights and flames? Thanks in advance

@@firetekfiringsystems So I can trigger the firetek cue with the module and that will start a dmx script on the firetek ? Thanks in advance.

Excellent! How did you manage to "teach" the module to recognise the RFC remote signals? Also does this work with the old 48fx modules or just the new 64ftq ones?

How can I manually step fire R1 then R2 then R3 then R4 with a wireless remote? When I step fire right now with rails connected to R1 and R2, cue one on both rails fire simultaneously. Is there something in the configuration that causes this? I would like to fire all 16 cues on R1 then move to R2 and so on.

I have a few of these and just learning. What do I need to fire these with music?
@firetekfiringsystems
@firetekfiringsystems 2 жыл бұрын
The approach is pretty straight forward. Pick a song or create a sound track. Then you can load that soundtrack into a 3rd party application such as Finale3D, FWSim, or even PyroIgnitionControl. From there you can program each module when to fire an igniter for each rail and channel along with the music. Those application provide a script that is just a CSV file read by fireTEK. At the most basic approach, one could create a CSV script in a spreadsheet application. I hope that helps a little bit. Do check out the Facebook user group and ask more questions: facebook.com/groups/1581649428806010

Are the devices "bricked" if you accidentally delete the *.bin file?
@firetekfiringsystems
@firetekfiringsystems 2 жыл бұрын
That is a good question and not covered in the video. However, No, you will not Brick the device. If you accidently delete the .bin file or delete it and forget to copy over the new .bin file from the computer, the device maintains a low-level firmware that is not altered. The low-level firmware maintains functions of the device - including the function to update the high-level firmware. So you still need to update the firmware you can go back to the firmware update mode and copy over the correct firmware file.

Does adding a battery/charging increase the ignition voltage?
@firetekfiringsystems
@firetekfiringsystems 2 жыл бұрын
In this video yes it does and more information can be found here: help.firetekfiringsystem.com/support/solutions/articles/67000373675-ftq-firing-power. However, with more recent firmware, the higher voltage is also achieved without the external power source. The website is not fully running at this time, but you can get more information via email at [email protected].

Glad you liked the video. There should be a couple more videos posted very soon. The FTQ modules can use USB power from any source. I know there are similar Dewalt USB power adapters out there, too. It makes for a nice convenient backup, if needed.

The flame machines used in this video are relatively inexpensive and purchased on ebay. Search "DMX Flame Machine" and you should find them. The fireTEK system will also work with higher end DMX devices, too.

How many rails can be paralleled at 75-100 feet apart..?

Hello houseoffire72. It is possible to use a number or rails in parallel. Keep in mind there are a number of variables that will not be standard with all setups. One could calculate the theoretical capability with Ohms Law and calculating equivalent resistance of the total circuit and then calculating the current flow through each match - which will be different at each position due to the cable runs between each rail. However, as cable, connector, and match resistances may very, it is best to run some tests. Not the answer you were after, but it is possible to run a number of rails in parallel. You will find some examples on the FB Users page. With the FTH-48Fx there are examples of 4 rails in parallel separated by 50ft of cable with the internal battery and 7 rails in parallel with the external battery. Also, keep in mind that the FTQ-16x64 has increased firing voltage up, which will allow additional current to be pulled through multiple rails.

@@firetekfiringsystems I appreciate the answer bud thank you. Really all I want to do for now is use one 16x64 mod to run 3 stations from each of the "16 que" banks at a max distance of 75-100ft apart... Honestly even though I understand "ohms law" being an audio guy for decades etc blah blah blah I won't take the time to actually figure it out as this information should already be known to some extent before a purchase is made... I did send an email to info@firetek with no response yet... I've helped in a few shows in the past that fired with firetek and to be honest I think its a fantastic system...! I like the idea of cables and slats vs just a mod... I ran WPS for a year and to be absolutely honest the system did everything I asked of it lol and I ran the "tiny 12 que" mods that I upgraded to an external 12v power supply... That system had zero issues firing 3 stations. 50ft apart in parallel...

Your going to be just fine. Many have successfully tested and fired much more. Regardless of the system, more firing current is going to help the situation. If one really wanted to push the envelope on parallel rails they could "balance the flow" by adding resistance up front, but that is over kill. Another thing people have suggested on the user group it to extend the impulse time to ensure they all fire on an typical "unbalanced" setup.

Hello Victor. Thanks for the question. fireTEK can directly control DMX devices. You will find some more information on some of the other videos on this channel. Here is also a link to some of the support pages showing how to set up DMX. help.firetekfiringsystem.com/support/solutions/articles/67000373134-does-firetek-work-with-dmx- For this video here, the DMX scripting was done in Finale 3D. There is also some information about programing with Finale 3D at the following link: help.firetekfiringsystem.com/support/solutions/articles/67000405648-dmx-programming-with-finale-3d I hope this answers you questions. Regards.

@@user-sp8bw6ne6b Victor, you may find some of these user videos helpful for understanding DMX for the FTH-48Fx. This video describes the csv file format for the 48Fx modules: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXbGlKaBfKp7q7c You may find some more information on this video on step firing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4mQlJh8rJxnbrM This last video describes some of the PyroIgnition Control (PIC) format used for DMX: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2rbdZyHnZuenJo. About a 1/3 of the way through it shows DMX values and settings. In PIC, on your add or edit cue window you will change the "flavour" to from Standard to DMX and remember DMX channels have +100 added to them; e.g, DMX channel 1 = 101 in PIC. Lastly, please check out some of the files included in the fireTEK user group FB page. The file "DMX Basics" walks though PIC for adding DMX events: facebook.com/groups/1581649428806010/files
