DMX Pryomusical Demo with Small Remote and - Testing, Setup, & Show

To provide additional flexibility and an economic approach to starting with the system, the fireTEK FTQ module has the option to be controlled by a small 2 or 4 button RF remote.
This video demos a short Pyromusical that consists of DMX flames machines, PAR Lights, and electrically fired pyrotechnic effects. The video includes information about testing, arming, and setup of the demo.
This demo provides just a sample of the DMX capabilities with the fireTEK system. The FTQ DMX capabilities include up to 256 channels and DMX Ramping capabilities as well as simple open and close commands.
The Small Remote can be used in all operational states and allows access to some additional functions and settings. Similar to the mouse, the Small Remote allows navigation through the Channel Status display which is helpful for setup and troubleshooting. The Small Remote can also be used for manual and step firing from a module.
With the Small Remote comes a feature called CrewControl. With fireTEK CrewControl pyrotechnic crew members monitoring specific areas can disable firing on preselected modules using the Small Remote. If the issue is resolved the module can be commanded with the Small Remote to resume firing and it will remain in sequence with the show.

Excellent! How did you manage to "teach" the module to recognise the RFC remote signals? Also does this work with the old 48fx modules or just the new 64ftq ones?

I have a few of these and just learning. What do I need to fire these with music?

The approach is pretty straight forward. Pick a song or create a sound track. Then you can load that soundtrack into a 3rd party application such as Finale3D, FWSim, or even PyroIgnitionControl. From there you can program each module when to fire an igniter for each rail and channel along with the music. Those application provide a script that is just a CSV file read by fireTEK. At the most basic approach, one could create a CSV script in a spreadsheet application. I hope that helps a little bit. The flame machines used in this video are relatively inexpensive and purchased on ebay. Search "DMX Flame Machine" and you should find them. The fireTEK system will also work with higher end DMX devices, too.
