It all turned out so good! I do a spooky village like this every year too. I have it set up on my mantle in my stairwell and in September I put the orange blk bottle brush trees in with them, thens with to those black and white ones. It's my favorite lil seasonal thing. It stays up all winter like that too.

How are the meta glasses working out for you? I've been thinking about getting a pair for awhile now i like the cream sunglasses version

I forgot to ask: are you into the Krampus at all? He seems to be gaining popularity. He’s a midwestern/Dutch tradition I think? I think he punishes the haughty children for Santa. I’ve seen some Victorian Krampus cards where he’s boiling them in a pot! Very creepy Christmas indeed!

The tree is gorgeous! So good. My favorite part of the video was when you pointed out the ornaments that are special to you. Love that. I put out my black Halloween tree and ornaments out for October. The packages and coal made a great tree “Skirt” too. My second favorite thing was the Santa hat on the crow. The nutcracker you painted is awesome. Around 10 years ago Target had a Halloween/spooky nutcracker Collection. I have a few of those.

I got the black-white-red plaid for the creepmas tree skirt.

I got both models of the 2024 Targét wooden black house. Your mileage may vary on the internal lights. The LED is an ugly color, and the window cellophane isn't glued in properly. I'm planning to replace the lights with part of my smart-home LEDs, and use some nice tracing paper for the windows.

We are so lucky that Krampus survived as a cultural tradition so we don't have to resort to Zwarte Piet as the macabre side of the Santa Clause universe.

Home Goods had an all-black, non-glitter nutcracker with a moving mouth lever. They went to the trouble of moving parts, but the mouth isn't big enough to get your nuts in.
