Hi Brad, I dont know why but I did everything as per the setup but still even one jug of water is not cooled :(, would you like to get in touch over an email/watsapp to identify the root cause ?? Awaiting positive response. Thanks for your help.

I would bypass the control module for now. Connect the Peltier directly to the 12V power supply for 3 seconds. If you can feel the coldness, and the heat on the other side, you know the Peltier is fine(do the same to the pump and fan to test them) and the issue is likely with the control module. May be the wiring or setting.

Hi i wonder if you can help me with my water chiller i believe it does have the same hardware, but my fan iant working and it is not getting cold or warm it, the set button is not working too, its not a diy, its from china that i ordered online and it work on first try but when i connected to my aquarium, it became defective the fan is not running. maybe you can help me?

I would google the model number and see if someone had the same issue or there’s a manual to follow. After trying that if it’s still not working I would need to test with a multimeter to check if there’s current running through the device because based on the description there’s none. Sorry that I can’t be more helpful and hope you get it fixed soon.

Yes I followed your instructions and it worked, after some videos even if it doesnt have the same model. Your video is helpful! I worked on the time delays so it is not defective! 😅 thanks to you!

@@khaitz You may still use the same device, but to eliminate the concern isolate the cooling water circulation by adding a thin plastic/glass cup in the tank. I will illustrate how in the revised/republished video. Thanks!

i tried this, but i find the change in water temperature to be marginal, what may have gone wrong?
@byc0705
@byc0705 2 жыл бұрын
The temperature change range heavily depends on the tank size, i.e. the water volume being cooled down. Room temperature also affects the performance.

can we use any heat sink from cpu?
@byc0705
@byc0705 2 жыл бұрын
Ideally, use a heat sink that’s for CPU with 120W+ TDP, which is the power of the thermoelectric chip. Also, be aware that heat sinks may affix differently, e.g. buckled or screwed.

I guess it’s air lock. You may try filling the pump and tube with water. Leave as less air as possible in the system then start pumping. Hope this will solve the problem. Thanks.

@@dark_pizza How it work is demonstrated a little bit at the end of Part 2. Basically just put both ends in the water. One end is the intake and the other outputs the cooled water. I may explain further in Part 3, which thought is mainly about putting the device into another use. Thanks.

You need to use the most efficient peltier module, TEC1-12708. Assemble at least 4 of them in parallel and feed only 6 amps for each. In total you would need to feed 6x4 = 24amps at 12V. Don't use those heatsinks, they aren't enough to pump out the heat from the hot side. Use water cooling, aluminium cooling blocks and radiator setup.

Thank you for being interested in my work. It’s truly an encouragement for me because I’ve never imagined someone would be willing to buy my product. hi can this setup can do a 40 gallon tank?
@byc0705
@byc0705 3 жыл бұрын
Based on the test result in my second video it will take about 16 hours to chill 40 gallon down 1 °C (40 gallon x 3.785 liter/gallon ÷ 0.4 ml x 2.5 min. = 946 min.). It will have certain degree of heat suppression but I'm not sure whether it will be enough. You may consider using a stronger Peltier and heatsink, but please be aware that the current limit for the thermostat module is 10A so the temp. auto-control may need to be excluded. There are also commercial water chillers on the market though they are a bit costly.
