My mom is a narcissist and now an 85 year old. For years now we've been dealing with her like she is a person of retardation. It's really been saving our mental health ! So now that we think she is in onset dementia we already have the hang of it! She gets mad because we are only kind and don't give her an inch of traction! We keep very strong boundaries with her and don't participate in negativity.

Great video. Thank God my parents are doing ok at the moment. My Mom is 75 and Dad is 79. Luckily they are staying active and have a good circle of friends. I am fortunate in that I have a good loving relationship with my parents. I am more than willing to help them. My parents will never ask for help, but I identify areas where they need an assist and just do it.

I am not narcissistic. I stay in My room and never bother them. All I ask is to be taken to my doctor appointments.(2) I make my own food and buy my own things: I took care of my daughter when she needed me. It’s not right that now, when I need her, she isn’t there for me.

I had edema for OVER A DECADE! Tried plethora of treatment including those tormenting pressure socks which just transfer swelling, and are more painful that edema itself for me. doc's were perplexed. For recent infection, was prescribed doxycycline by a doctor for infection. Side effect was that Edema also went away quickly, infection not so fast. Edema has never returned. YOU MUST TRY THIS!!!

I had a heart attack two years ago. I have stomach problems, thyroid problems and the doctor changed my medication a couple weeks ago. Every since I started talking more levothyroxine 50 mg. I started shaking, my heart flutter when I have hot flashes. The doctor says my thyroid is over active. I've had a thyroid goiter since I was 11 years old. I have been to so many doctors who think they can shrink it. It's not going to happen. I'm 55 years old...if it hasn't worked by now...it's not going to shrink. I have cataracts in both eyes. My left eye is completely covered, but I still can see out of my right eye a little. I can't have surgery because of my heart. I can't have any procedures done because of my heart. My health is so messed up. I was just trying to find out why my ankles and legs are so swollen? I was so thirsty yesterday. I kept drinking water. Then I couldn't breath. I feel like I have to pee so bad, but when I go to pee...it takes a minute before I start to pee. Is it my kidneys? Is it my heart? Is it, because my food doesn't digest right? Is it because of the thyroid medication? What is going on?!!!! Please help....!!!!

Look up on KZbin Ben Azadi. Also, Dr Sten Ekberg. Dr Ekberg has a video on thyroid that will address the iodine deficiency that causes goiter. It is titled: “#1 Absolute Best Way to Heal Your Thyroid.” He offers a great amount of detailed incite, and you can look at his other videos, for your other concerns. I am subscribed to both of these professionals.

In this past 6 months I had cold twice, thought i had a heart attack false alarm and now I'm suffering from stomach bug the worst illness I experienced recently. My ungrateful, pain in the neck parents are the most selfish and they were never loving or supportive towards me mum especially was and is abusive. So I dont know how I ended up in this situation. As I kid my tooth was extracted and the wound was not healing had blood in my mouth and my pillow had stains not once she asked me let me see your mouth. Her friend saw it she told my mum off and took me to the dentist where they had to stitch the gum... And now I take her to dentist and I'm going to be honest I hate doing this. I can't stand them, don't want to hear their voices or see their faces. Once I'm recovered from this awful illness I'm going to have a honest chat with them. Tell them exactly how I feel about them. This is way too ridiculous not to treat your child right then expect them to take care of you? Nope is not gonna happen

How are you today. I have a very similar situation in my life. I don't think is my obligation to take care of my mum if when I was a child she didn't take care of me and gave me to the neighbours to do it. She is now 83 y old still ok but I am not happy thinking she expects me to be responsible for her after being a horrible mum to me my intire life
@Phillis223 ай бұрын
@@conexaolondresbrasil Hi, thank you that horrible illness lasted for 5 weeks and my dad was taken to emergency 5mins later he had a cardiac arrest and was transferred to another hospital. My relatives was ringing me giving me updates and asking me to come to the hospital they well knew I was suffering and very ill. At the end I said OK I had enough of explaining myself. I stayed overnight. My brother was on holiday and he decided to come back. After him arriving I had full 10 days rest at home. I can't even describe the feeling of relief. Finally I can rest. My body was too tired to fight off this virus. And I had thought of many things but the most important thing was I'm too tired of this negative thoughts. I didn't want to live this way. Once I had my rest I had an open conversation with both parents. Mum shouted at me and started crying. Dad was OK I guess, as he had his operation I was not that harsh. Both got the message I guess or they pretend 😉anyway future will show. Now my mindset is just to treat them as old couple who needs help. To be honest they shouldn't ask anything of us but they will as they have nobody. So I'm guessing your mum will too if she has the money and wants to go to retirement home let her do that. Unfortunately my parents don't. I wouldn't even think twice.

I’ve been a nurse and can tell you that the vast majority of elderly people I cared for had no support from their children. Those people weren’t all narcissists. There are a lot of people who lack the empathy to understand how vulnerable their parents become as they grow older. This lack of empathy, from what I have seen, is a big part of why children don’t get involved in helping their elderly parents. We should judge that.

Elderly I strongly encourage you to maintain your Independence and exclude any toxic control freak or relative who would just love your estate even if it means putting you in a nursing home to get it sooner. Legally exclude them and depending on how toxic they are do not put them on your will. Make yourself a small Target. Do not have toxic helpers around you either. Kids do not have a responsibility if you make legal documents to completely exclude them and get an alternative that actually cares about you and is genuine.
