What size torx bit for the wedge bolts?
@ongnoimay5705 Жыл бұрын
SLR is a scam , I orderd the wrong size hand guard and sent it back to get the right one . They said I had installed it and sent it back . It’s brand new so my friend ordered the same thing either one of us install it was just trying to get a shorter hand guard that’s all they sent both hand guard back . Don’t ever order from this company.

What type of muzzle?
@observingcitizen4042 жыл бұрын
This video could not be more perfect! All the information you want, under the b******* or commercials or side conversation or stupidity nobody wants to hear or gives a s*** about! If more manufacturers did this with their own products, a lot of people would not order their own handguards, or have to have RMA numbers and return labels sent. That being said most people are too stupid to call the manufacturer to double check and verify for 5 to 10 minutes to save themselves hours of aggravation and hundreds of dollars of their money. However you have to make everything retard proof nowadays anyway, so why should this be any exception? My point remains the same however, if somebody wants to buy your company's handguard or product, and they can go into KZbin or their website or wherever and find this detailed information in such a clean razor sharp format the chances of people spending their money with that manufacturer or a hundred times higher than winging it or guessing

would 11.7 inch ion lite work with a ba hanson 12.3 barrel with a direct thread suppressor?

I've been doing research on hand rails for my 12.5" for about 2 weeks, have lost sleep over it, have watched numerous videos, read various forums and this video answered all my questions. Great job. I'm going w/ SLR.

Do all handguards measure like the SLR handguards do? Like is a 9.5" Larue or Geissele the same length as a SLR handguard?
@musician4452 жыл бұрын
The only thing that could potentially cause these measurements to not work, is when using a barrel with a tape behind the threads for a direct thread suppressor. In theory, the suppressor would index slightly behind the rear of threads rather than exactly where they stop. Perhaps that 1/8 inch would be enough to allow it to clear? But I would imagine the suppressor could still contact the rail during firing due to barrel whip. I want to build a 300blk with a 7.5 barrel using SLR's 6.7 ION Lite handguard, but i also want to utilize a direct thread w/taper mount. If there was a 6.5" model of the ION Lite, I would be set. I might have to scrap the taper and just have the barrel made with a traditional 90 degree shoulder and use a QD mount. The taper is a nice addition to have due to the weight/length savings of a direct thread setup. The taper+correct torque values=very secure mounting without worry of the device walking off the end, and for folks that never take their can off, it often makes sense.

What length rail would come close to the threads on a 13.7" barrel? Looking for minimal space between rail and suppressor.
@The3DSeth2 жыл бұрын
Their method is essentially: Barrel Length - 0.8 in. = Handguard ends where threads on barrel begin. You'd be at 12.9 inches in this case.

Question??? I have an 18"barrel, with a long handguard. ( I want to change that) The gasblock location is about mid barrel. I want to install sights with a gasblock, and order/purchase a shorter handguard. How do I get the measurement, or is there a standard for that barrel length, and gasblock location?

@KevinMcMullen.4 жыл бұрын
When I was a Deputy I was issued a level 2 vest. I was in a lot of bad situations. A vest is better then no vest and in most situations statistically you will be shot with a hand gun not a rifle. That being said if you own a gun you should own body armor. Not much use to have a gun if you go down from the first shot.

a few things: aero shell grease on barrel nut and receiver thread, (good idea to pre-stress them before final torque down), the torque wrench should be 90 degree to the installation wrench for accurate torque spec. blue lok-tie on the base of gas block set screws (never on the tip, other wise you have to torch it to get them off in the future) its a good idea to dimple them as well.
@VietPho4 жыл бұрын
90 Degrees when torquing I agree. Unless you're in the Army/Air Force where the manual have you do it inline with the torque wrench.
@Justin-dp9tw2 жыл бұрын
Blue loctite will do nothing to a gas block screw. After a few rounds blue loctite will immediately burn off. Need high temp thread locker for a gas block or do what I do and pin/dimple it.

SLR is a go to for any non traditional handguard length. No other company even comes close to having so many options as SLR. One thing I'd personally like to see is a steel barrel nut as an option maybe for an additional small fee.
