Martha Argerich is my favorite pianist, but I think her performance from this time is still not very complete.

Всю свою долгую жизнь я считал и до сих пор считаю лучшей исполнительницей Шопена Беллу Давидович..А в этом году в мою жизнь ворвалась Марта Аргерих, эта гениальная волшебница. This video is playing in D Minor, not C# Minor. She’s known for playing fast, but this appears to have been sped up (perhaps for copyright issues?). Keep that in mind if you’re puzzled by the tempo. 😎🎹

Chopin at his best is brilliant. But most often his compositions sound like music written by a pianist. And then there are pieces like this one, that just puts the listener to sleep. Empty and boring. But Argerich is fantastic, of course.

A fellow Argentinian! our great pride. I always wonder... would one as parent try to encourage a young child with a great talent to get a high performance musical training (many afternoons against their desire) in order to achieve their true potential? and make them pay the cost of NEVER having a normal life from that point on... and even after all that sacrifice, they might never make it to international fame. This applies to sports too. Like tennis!
