As it says the spindle contains an industrial HSK25 tool clamping, means there is a quite complicated gripping mechanism as well as a taper clamping involved. You need pressurized air to clamp and unclamp the tool, but once you have clamped the tool the taper sits absolutely firm and no vacuum is involved. "Springless" in this case only means that this tool interface is self-locking and not hundreds of disc springs can wobble around which gives an unbelievable good dynamic behaviour and balance.

is it just me or is the taper collet held in there with nothing but a vacuum?
