According to Bighit's tradition, a group is given a five-year period to develop its lore and concepts before making its debut. After this time, the company evaluates the group's progress and determines whether they'll further invest and cultivate based on its standing/success in the industry. Similarly, members can also consider whether to renew the contract after two years as per their initial seven-year contract. If and only if the group still has great potential for development and the members renew their contracts, the company will continue to map out development strategies for the coming gears and create new lore/storylines. An example is BTS, which in short, Bighit also told them to decide whether they should continue the contract or not 2 years earlier on the 5th year back in 2018. Seriously whenever I get to tell someone about Soobin this moment is something I always bring up. They could have left it with a savage comeback or awkwardly tried to move on without addressing it, but Soobin took the time to scold that commenter while explaining why comments like that shouldn’t be made and I have so much respect for him for that. I’m sure they’re told to not address those kinds of comments when they appear in order to avoid things going poorly, so I really admire Soobin for deciding to say something even at risk of his words being twisted or coming out poorly.
