The last quarter of the fight is brutal, I found mantle of thorns a gamechanger, Reduces Melee damage taken from enemies by 20%, reflects 120% of Melee damage taken, and reduces stagger on hit. He impaled on me and I healed through.

This guide was really well done. Thank you. So many videos on the game are made in multiplayer and the creators don't seem to understand what it's like to be the only thing these aggressive bosses are focused on. I've only beat this boss once in survival but he's ended a couple of my runs with the stun lock. I should probably practice on him in the regular game.

This BS hitboxes are the worst enemy of this fight. He's melee me 2 meters away from me, and still get a hit wtf is that garbage. This whole game is garbage. Upgrades are pointless because of enemies scaling, theres no loot - only scrap, one item per level (90% of the time wortheless ring) and 1 trait. Most bosses are just regular enemy with ONE different attack + 999 small mobs. Enemies resping on the players back, every dungeon looks the same etc. Really is one of the most overated games I've ever played. Mayble pkayable in solo, but in coop this game gets 10x harder and more frustrating and unfair

That sound at the beginning just triggered some PTSD. This boss fight was so good and so scary.

lol just put points on explosion damage... take the electro gun with overload mod... dodge his initial jump attack and fire the mod... wont even take 10 sec to kill the boss (labyrinth armor, burden of follower and believer and either vulcan detonator or storm necklace)... put points on crit though... infact this build can easily kill almost any boss in the game

Ive thought the same thing and i believe this theory possibly could be confirmed considering how now in remnant 2 in the second phase of the annihilation fight it switches between realities and everything seems corrupted

The Remnant games' soundtracks are some of the best examples of leitmotiff usage done right. So many tracks manage to sneak in the Remnant main melody and its always implemented at a 10/10. Prime example is at 5:53. That buildup to the final crescendo of the chorus and orchestra blasting the Remnant Main Theme is PHENOMENAL. Like... holy shit its so good.

I'm on my second hardcore run in remnant died first time from a hole in a dungeon in rom now I'm here and I think I'm just going to skip this it I don't have to do it so I'll probably be back to waithis video if I have to lol

Kinda annoyed realizing you were recommending the exact two weapons ive been using on my first attempts - but for some reason, my UI is showing me that the widowmaker has a higher RPS than what the Huntmaster rifle has - which of course makes no sense! (2.8 vs 1.5 ?! and not the other way around?!) ; so while I had my doubts, I actually downgraded the huntmaster and put everything into the widowmaker; which of course has a much lower RPS no matter how you look at it. This confuses me more than the bossfight does and I want my fully upgraded huntmaster back ^^

There is a pretty easy way to cheese this boss: When walking into the boss arena, you are standing inside of a puddle that has a slightly lower elevation. If you duck in this puddle, (nearly) all spike attacks miss you. However, you may not take any action while the spikes are flying above your head (so no aiming down sights, mod use etc..). So you can just be there crouched, neutral dodge any melee attack, shoot at him constantly, and just pause your actions when spikes are flying over you. The only time you need to move is when it does an attack with the elevated set of spikes. Then you can just roll directly infront of him, where you are safe from this attack. Care however, because after the upper spike attack he will always follow up with a melee swipe so be ready for that. Once you got the consistency of this fight down it won't be a problem to do a no hit run, also on apocalypse.

I think the main problem with the system is it presents two opposites. Wanting to keep a game challenging and presenting the progression through gear just do not mesh. Gear > Farm to get stronger > Eventually farm enough to blast everything away much faster How remnant does it, Gear > Farm to get stronger > enemies scale with that gear so its always a challenge > "Why am I upgrading my gear?"

Great guide!! I do have to partially disagree with you on one thing. While I really like phase one - it’s a great “flying dragon” fight - phase 2 is a mountain of bullshit. Very poor design in my opinion. It might be fine if you’re a pro souls player, but for me - someone who’s casual but plays most soulslikes - it feels unfair. Hopefully your great guide gets me through 🤞🤞
