10 months ago I thought Gotoh tuners was the best tuners. A guy swapped to Hipshot tuners on an 8-string Ibanez guitar, I said; “Why did you swap these tuners instead of Gotoh?” He responded: “I like Hipshot tuners though.”. A Reddit user; “Try Hipshot® tuners, Why: Because It’s my favorite tuners company & better than Gotoh®.”, He responded: “Yeah won't be buying gotohs again. I they were loose when I was restringing and went to tighten them, but the knob rolled right off. Was just trying to get a matching replacement so I could sell the guitar but I found one!”, & he deleted the video.

This is the second video I watched where a comparison was made between an Ibanez bridge and a Hipshot bridge. In the other video I liked the stock Ibanez bridge much more than the Hipshot. And in this video, while the bridges are different models, again I like the Ibanez bridge more than the Hipshot. I don't know why Hipshot is so popular. I had a Hipshot tremelo bridge and it was horrible. And the fixed bridges of Hipshot I don't like as well.
@CT79chroma3 ай бұрын
I don't have experiences of other Hipshot bridges than this one, I bought this one as this one is a direct replacement to Ibanez folded plate bridge. I love Ibanez Gibraltar bridges and would never replace those but the original bridge that this RG7321 had, was awful. Originally it had long and sharp height adjustment screws that hurt the palm of my hand. I shortened those by filing them but still the bridge did not feel good and stable. After the replacement the tonal difference is pretty subtle but the feel that Hipshot brought is superior compared to the original.
@chocolatecookie85713 ай бұрын

@@chocolatecookie8571 I agree! What’s your favorite pickup?
@chocolatecookie85713 ай бұрын
@@CT79chroma In this video I liked the PAF7 more than the stock pickups. In my past guitar life I had all kinds of guitars with different pickups. If I would choose a pickup for a 7 string then probably the Dimarzio PAF or maybe the Seymour Duncan 59 which is PAF design also according to SD. But I would stick to passive pickups and not too hot.
@CT79chroma3 ай бұрын
@@chocolatecookie8571 I also have had a lot of different pickups and I am definitely a passive pickups guy. PAF7 is easily my favorite pickup for 7 string as it is super versatile. At the moment I have 3 guitars (Ibanez RG's) with PAF7's and one Ibanez RGD that has BKP Aftermath. Aftermath is also a good pickup but I prefer PAF7 more. Maybe Aftermath works better on super low stuff than PAF7. Haven't tested though - my PAF7 guitars are tuned to A standard. That RGD is tuned to F# so basically it has 8 string guitar tuning even though it is a 7 string.

Thanks Eddie! I thought that this video might be helpful to fellow guitarists that try to decide which pickup to go to. :) I also have RGD7UC and it has BKP Aftermaths - they are good but all the time wondering if PAF7 would suit my needs better. I have that guitar tuned to F# and Aftermaths are nice but I would need a way to split them by times so maybe I ask someone to install push/pull pot to it! With PAF7 you cant go wrong! 😁 I haven't tried super distortion unfortunately so can't comment it. 😟

Yes, it is this one: hipshotproducts.com/collections/guitar-bridges/products/7-string-ibby-fp-guitar-bridge?variant=28341690760 Note that in mine the saddle pieces are a bit different shape (more round) as Hipshot sent me wrong ones initially. @@_pant0m EQ is way to modify the outcome sound but I prefer that the pickup itself is as close as possible to what I am after without needing to use EQ to get there.
