There should be a rule.... when a group of experts are talking about a topic they are NOT ALLOWED to reference their company / product / service . When they focus on their products / services /companies - it is no longer an discussion with experts and more a marketing effort.

The missing element ... Generative models should be taught how to say, "I DON'T KNOW!" when they don't.

Quit saying, “um”. You should use a generative language model to give your talk because it won’t say, “um”. And by the way, where does it say, “um”, in your notes? And what purpose does it serve other than to confound your viewers with your lack of preparation and lack of confidence?

He's totally right that these are more than computer science issues. 11:00 But sociologists, no! Those are the last people you want involved "in the conversation". They have no grounding at all (it's not even a science). Maybe some philosophers, if you can find any good ones, but they are very, very rare. Modern Western philosophy went off the rails years ago. And most academics from the current tainted system would be worse than helpful in giving one the perspectives need to evolve a free and democratic system. It's good he's paying attention to writers -e.g., head of Oxford Internet research ... but big innovators come from outside the system, like those that started Apple and MS were college dropouts for example...

"AI will create even more jobs". How, the fuck, can you say this with certainty? Are we doing wishful thinking? Are we talking based on feelings? The truth is: nobody knows. Evidence in fact point to how automation has destroyed more jobs than it created (Acemoglu).

Excuse me, but claiming WWII ended with letter from Einstein is just romantic myth. America won the peace, yes being intact, but it was Russia and it’s tens of millions of dead that paved ‘our’ victory. When you look at the stats of casualties Americans do not even rate a pixel on the graph.
