Great talk: simple to understand, but conceptually deep. Like this type of presentations!

Thank you Dr Pavlick. Well presented, with excellent examples of key talking points. You caution that it’s easy in this giddy and fevered GAI moment to overlook the hallucinatory and risk aspects of the technology while recognizing the immense potential. 👏🙏

I had difficulty to hear words at the end of sentences. I felt that the speaker spoke clearly at first, but faded out at the last few words.

That's right. But u must not forget she finished everything on time with A+ presentation. Can u imagine the pressure of presentation i.e. volcanic topic that indeed exploded 😅

The missing element ... Generative models should be taught how to say, "I DON'T KNOW!" when they don't.

That's a really good point that I don't think is possible to train into a single model. But researchers get around this by chaining multiple "chatgpts" together

Awesome stuff, Only if biology could allow for a little bit more time, Only If I were a little bit smarter, Only If could be a little bit longer. We have been made to feel like people each with 5 five brain cells amd two of them dont even function properly, Though we can talk forever. Ye know 💀

no worries, artificial intelligence will make such a change with liars that they will not know how to handle themselves, because artificial intelligence based on lies won't stand a chance against artificial intelligence based on truth, and not only

Quit saying, “um”. You should use a generative language model to give your talk because it won’t say, “um”. And by the way, where does it say, “um”, in your notes? And what purpose does it serve other than to confound your viewers with your lack of preparation and lack of confidence?

It's relatable to the less educated, pause for thought and picks up the pace (she is normally boring sounding). Obama made this normal during his second term.
