Welcome. I live in Sooke, and tomorrow morning I head up to my cabin in Ucluelet. Don't feel bad about converting the metric distances. I'm 75, and still can't (won't 😂) do it. Hiking poles are a must on the island.

Hi Guys! Pedder bay looks like a great place to make a base from - well located and all the amenities. You guys did some great hikes on this one - some of those looked a bit tricky - especially for the pooch. And being able to see the whales that close - that was really something! You did a great job capturing this - we really want to re-visit the island you and guys have created an excellent blueprint so far - we look forward to more! Hope have super holidays and a great new year - look forward to catching up in the new year.

And now I know the rest of the story! Our first camping trip with our first RV (40' Keystone Raptor 3612DS) was at Big Bear Lake. Seemed to me like the campground was closed for the season but you could still camp there because we camped in the camphost spot. I think the campground was Serrano but I could be wrong. That place was absolutely beautiful! I probably should have done my homework a little better but then again we wouldn't have had the experience of going up Hwy 18. First time ever pulling a trailer let along a 40' toyhauler. Maybe it was a good thing it was at night and less vehicles on the highway. Cancer sucks!! I lost my dad to cancer in May of this year. He got blood work and physicals twice per year through the VA but end of March out of the blue he wasn't feeling good and then 2 months later he was gone. Lost my uncle who flew Marine One (Carter & Reagan) this past October after battling Pancreatic Cancer for 3 yrs.

Hello again! First off we are so sorry to hear you recently lost your father to cancer and shortly after your uncle. Sounds like they both left legacies their family can be proud of. We appreciate you sharing their story with us. Yes! You are right, Serrano Campground!⛺️ We haven’t actually ever camped there, but used to always walk the trail that went past the campground and by the lake. Big Bear Lake was a beautiful place to call home. You must live in So. Cal? Highway 18 is no joke in a car let alone hauling a 40’ toy hauler! 😅 Definitely memorable for you! Thanks for sharing! 👏 ~ Rhonda and Stan

Stayed at all Provincial Parks for the most part. Many great hikes every where . By the way highway 14 is a challenge. Made my fifth wheel trailer “ dance” from China Beach campsite to Port Renfrew . Went over the hill to Gordon Bay provincial park on Lake Cowichan . Road was great from Port Renfrew to Gordon Bay. Slow but all paved . Great drive .

I'm considering using a Gen Y gooseneck hitch, but I'm not sure how much it will affect my rear wheel well liners.
@OverTheHillAdventures7 күн бұрын
@ I couldn’t use the Gen y or the Reese Goosebox. I need a little more articulation for might steep driveway. I’ve seen the ones you can lock from the top. I’m not sure you can do that with the B&W Turnover. I love our setup 15,000 miles strong not a single issue.

I'll be honest...I had my doubts when you said in the video before this that you were taking in the incline. Haven't watched thru yet, but a comment spoiled it maybe. You did it? Wow. You can go all the way to the upper Catamount reservoir for free. Just tell them at the gates that you plan on fishing and want to check out the lake. You arent suppost to go past where they check brakes tho, but its a great free drive on a sunday or whatnot if you live in Colorado Springs. Kids can fish for free too btw, just make sure you use artificial lures only at upper catamount. No live baits to include worms.

Funny story. Before that was an RV park, it was a residential mobile home park. I think the spot you are in and the one or two next to it in the video was where my mobile home and yard was set up when I was 4 to 9 years old. That inlet and forest behind you was my back yard where I would play. I used to go get the mail down at the boat ramp and get an ice cream sandwich for the walk back home. A couple of times a stray cat would follow me home and wouldn't leave. 40 years later I still visit and watch people launch and load their boats while enjoying a BLT at the coffee shop. Definitely a beautiful location. So sorry you had to visit a place to get stitches on your trip. Glad it wasn't too bad for you. Thanks for sharing your trip to the island. :D
