You do some great work and I like that you’re driven and not afraid to just try. How do you figure what to charge for your shelves? I’m thinking about making and selling them but not sure what people would pay in my area.

How long did it take you to not make a lot of mistakes in wood working? I love it, but it’s hard to focus (ADHD and OCD) so can’t focus but things have to be right and done I can’t start and not finish or I completely lose track of what my plan was even if i write it all down, and I have a 4 and 8 year old boys at home with me all day everyday (during summer) and man are they more hyper than me

Word of advice, you will always make mistakes in woodworking. Trust me. This hobby has taught me how to adjust

Use masking tape and clear packing tape to fold over the miters they’ll come out without gaps that way
@jaidinbuchanan45746 күн бұрын
With the hot glue edge band you should melt it on like three times and while you’re ironing it use a piece of scrap ply or something to push the tape down firmly. Makes for a much better final result.

Thanks for the tip! I actually do that, and show that in one of my long form videos.

Chances are that second line to flush up against the wall was janky af. Because if it wasn’t and he was real proud of it you would’ve seen the close up. What’s interesting enough is it’s likely the wall that that out in the first place as he started with a straight edge on the mantle. A very light bead of colour matching caulking would’ve done just fine. I hope you would’ve used it to cover up that wavy ass cut that was done with the jig saw 😂

I do not like that method. It works, but it's just adds weight and it's not that sturdy.

That's some nice work Sir no doubt about it. But If you are not in the right market, to where you can actually get paid, for what your work is worth, is the bitch about the whole industry. My reasons are because of the huge demands on housing now, 98% of clients will love your work, but sadly won't be willing want to pay for perfection. They assume it should all be perfect at whatever price.

How do you figure out what size brackets to use?
@Duncwoods12 күн бұрын
On the site, always choose a size that is 2-5 inches smaller than the size of your shelf.

When you spray your clear, get closer... 8-12". You will have to move a little faster but that's how you do it... to flare or only do half then the other half. On that,you can go from side to side.

Ok, I've got a crappy table saw, a barely working band saw, a passable skil saw, and a router with a new on/off switch as of yesterday. What tool purchase would you recommend? Should i get a router table? Invest in a track saw? Get a solid table saw? Beautiful crisp work as always.
@Duncwoods17 күн бұрын
You will never regret investing in a good table saw. The most used tool in the shop!
@crispy917517 күн бұрын
@@Duncwoods thanks for the advice! I also heard that there's some federal table saw regulations coming down re:saw stop technology that may make table saws way more expensive in the future. So I guess table saw it is! (The wife won't be happy lol)
@you244916 күн бұрын
@@crispy9175 not the place, sorry, but they have a genius which allows them to slowly destroy us, while pretending that they're protecting or saving us. That table saw law coming is just one example of thousands. They're (sadly) amazing.
