I’m so sorry about your experience. I understand what you’re saying. I did PD while I was in high school for about 2 years until my transplant surgery. I did treatments manually and not by machine so that I could have more freedom as a teenager it was over 26 years ago. Wishing you the best! 🙏🏽❤️

Hi Dee, Really enjoyed your Podcast.The information you supplied was really informative.I'm a CKD Stage five.I reside in London and I'm treated at the Tottenham Hake Kidney Centre.I have an an interesting journey over 7 years reaching the stage where I'm on the Transplant List .Recently had a graph in left arm in preparation for dialysis. Shall be seeeking a councellor and Kidney psycologist as one's mental health is paramount when going through this journey.Currently off on sick leave from work as my kidney percentile is at 9%. I have been told my heomoglobin level is at 100 and should be higher.For a 6ft tall individual who has been very active,its a blow to my ego.Experiecing a lot of tirednes and wake up covered in sweat.Also I suffer from shortness of breath after not much exertion.So your Podcast has been very heilpful,keep up the good work. I'm also a Christian and having the faith knowing you can put all your cares on him helps.Stay Blessed keep up the good work. [email protected].

It’s so great to see this topic covered! I’ve been recently diagnosed with LPHS and with it being so rare, it’s nice to know there are others out there who understand what we live through every day.

Thank you for sharing your PD experience. My husband just started PD, and I am hoping and praying to God that it works well for him. He still has his hemodialyis vein catheter, and it would not be removed until the PD Team determine is working as it should. God you and keep you strong and positive!

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I'm new to pd and suffering horrific pain during the drain cycles. I have been told it's constipation. I dread hooking up to the machine every night. I have my pet test in a couple of days time so hopefully I will be able to get it sorted x

So sorry you’re going through this. Have you asked them to change the settings so that there is a tidal? This may vastly reduce/eliminate your pain.

Thank you for sharing. ‘Hope’ - that is what we must have when facing a journey like this. Talking about everything you’ve gone through and experienced is very helpful for those facing similar situations, whether recovering from septic shock or living with CKD. Well done for being so brave to talk about it and thank you again for this podcast.

@michaelgray8841 I was diagnosed too! Are you considering ant medical interventions? I’m currently at UWMadison Hospital for a two day to meet the medical staff and get a procedure done. 🤗 to you, I know that pain you feel. We are in a rare group that nobody wants to be in!
@michaelgray88417 сағат бұрын
@@lauren_WI I'm an NHS patient, so I'm still a long way off from even discussing treatment plans, I've been told so far there are no treatments for me, and I'm not sure my diagnosis has been finalized or just suggested. I've been prescribed butec patches, codine & medical cannabis to manage the pain. I haven't tried the patches yet, and only take the codine when I simply can't cope anymore. I'm very cautious of addiction, I'm determined this will go away, it's unreasonable to believe it wont. The pain sits at about 6 or 7 out of 10 24/7! With frequent spikes that reach 100000/10. It's been over a year of this constant pain now, so I think my pain threshold is increasing slightly. they've just discovered cysts on my liver last month, waiting for the appointment to talk about that. I hope your procedure works!! 🤞🙏 How is your mobility? I'm on crutches & can hardly leave the house. I'm now wondering if I need a wheelchair to go outside. I can't live hunched on a ball on the floor forever surely? Only going from the car to the Dr and back? How far in are you?

@@diaryofakidneywarriorThank you, it's literally living hell. I'd be happy to share my experiences with you too one day, theres so little out there about this condition. I've been keeping a detailed diary & been doing a lot of research. I've revaluated the proposed rarity of the condition too using AI, It's far far far lower than 0.012%👌

In soviet union health care was free , doctor's salary was the same, as salary of an engineer - a bit higher, than salary of truck drivers. For that reason doctors helped as little as possible. In the USA is opposite situation - doctors suggest hundreds unnessesary tests, procedures and surgeries, as it makes them rich. I do not know, if there exist any perfect health system in the world.

Whoever is reading this, know Jesus loves you. He died so we may live. He lived a perfect life that we could not. We deserve eternal death, but because of His grace and forgiveness we can experience eternal life with Him. This is the truth. Humble yourself and accept God’s forgiveness. His love will make you whole. It will change your life forever.

It is possible to look after 8 months baby and get PD? Could PD patient lift a 12-pounds baby from crib ?
@diaryofakidneywarrior5 ай бұрын
You would need to discuss this with your renal team. As if you’re choosing APD you would need to be connected to the machine for 8 hours or if you do manual exchanges you would need to do so 4 times a day. This may be more of a challenge than the weight of the baby.
