I bought stuff recently - so very well packed. Hammer price was great, but then you have to add on all the extra charges, it was not quite as much of a bargain, but still I was happy, but I may have been better to wait until what I wanted came up on ebay. It is lot of fun to bid live with an auctioneer, though, so I reckon it's worth trying it at least once, but remember the hammer price needs to be a bit lower to account for the charges - not complaining at all - it was an interesting lesson.

Yeah I always try to take into account the auction fees then also the eBay selling fees when bidding at auctions, I do get outbid a lot of the time 😬

'That end one' is called a torpedo ladle, it's used to carry molten steel from one plant to another without losing too much heat, usually the end product will be large-diameter pipes (or similar).

23994 Schnabel transporter with giant transformer unit, 32 axles in total 24019 A smaller version with just 24 axles and a huge ship diesel 24338 Another 24 axle Schnabel car with a steel press as load 24405 and 24018 are molten steel carriers. These are quite common around Saarbrucken to carry molten steel from the smelter to the plate rolling plant. The special wheel covers on the bogies under the vat are to protect the suspension from molten steel dripping on it

The Schnabel Transporters would carry outsized loads such as generators - the crew could move the load from side to side to clear obstructions. The torpedo ladles are even stranger - they are heavily insulated and carried molten steel from a furnace to a casting house - the whole barrel would be rotated to pour the steel. Trix always produced some interesting models

One in Ealing as well. They sold Hornby for decades. I am talking about right in the begining. Hornby dropped them in 24 hours like they did so many others about 5 years ago when all the concessions went. It was down hill from there or Hornby. I think this was Kohlers first action when he got back but I could be wrong.

No. Daniels is a large department store and very old school and sell quality items. Hornby need to get the concessions back. Another one that binned was the large shop at the train station on Anglesey with the longest name. They used to have a huge range.
