Is it really worth it? Geologists are saying 1/3 of washing no water in 5 years so why drill another well By the time it gets drilled need to go another `1000 foot down

Were you able to read a copy of the Audit management letter stating Barbara Pence over paid herself $1500? Paula was supposed to be verifying payroll. And the letter also stated utility billing issues. There was a settlement with L & I for Pence screw ups, they discounted fines from $13,000 to $1405. There is apparently a screw up with Dept of Retirement Systems. AND BELL KEEPS HER ON THE JOB. Council has to be backed up by the people or Bell wins.

days of Life in Lind Nice soap opera I have everyone on this side of town supporting the counsel or they dont vote and dont care I only care about utilities and dependable services Rest of what town does nothing for me Town wont stop the theft or drug problem Tired of people racing down my street no one cares about those problems

What does broken water meters have to do with conserving water you forgot to mention two hours a day, for watering so isn't two hours two hours whether your meter is working or broken and I would rather have water to drink wash with and other things like that then a green yard and as far as Henry, he did not leave his job, it was taken from him and as far as mayor costing town residents money what about the ones calling the auditors office and then the auditors having to do research at $160 an hour now the Town Has to pay over $5000 because of the few people that are continually calling the auditor so why don't you mention that what you do is being charged to the residence also, let's be fair on both sides and you were only able to shoot a dog in town if it is attacking you or your livestock you cannot just shoot it for being in your yard. It Has to be absolutely attacking.

My yard is fenced in I'm having issues with a dog coming and attacking my dogs and digging under my fence to my animals. This needs to be addressed. I shouldn't be forced to put an animal down because you don't want to punish them and take care of your animals.

Seems that there should be a public hearing for the people of the town to come give input on whether or not they want the town to be turned onto an HOA with all the petty codes.

RCW 40.16.010 Injury to public record. Every person who shall willfully and unlawfully remove, alter, mutilate, destroy, conceal, or obliterate a record, map, book, paper, document, or other thing filed or deposited in a public office, or with any public officer, by authority of law, is guilty of a class C felony and shall be punished by imprisonment in a state correctional facility for not more than five years, or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by both. [ 2003 c 53 § 214; 1992 c 7 § 34; 1909 c 249 § 95; RRS § 2347.] You folks need to get together and begin to push. Like right away.

There's this little thing called Freedom of Information act that someon , any one can file and request ALL records of the issue at hand of where the money went and to further this, a call to the Washington State Attorney Generals office to request an audit of the town budget be made and made available to the publlic which it should be anyway without any question at all in any ones mind. To with hold such information is an ilegal act and the town council can be brought to court to be made accountable for any and all losses and or profits gained from any source. ALL monies must be accounted for and not just those that some silly person decideds to not show you.

Parliamentary procedure. Roberts Rules of Order. If the meeting is not held to this standard and not following it then the council is null and void . It is considered to be an illegal act and action if the meeting is not adhered to with this in mind. Otherwise, the towns people who pay for the services are not getting the full measure of local government.

Your water meter issue, is being forced upon maybe 30% of the population who has a working meter and is being billed unfairly and without any justice at all. 350-500 people live there correct? Of those for sake of argument, maybe 50% have a meter , that might work. Of those 150 or so people, they are the ones who are supporting the town budget that by now has gone wildly out of control and well into the red. So of thsoe 150 people who are being unfairly billed, with no transparency at all from the town council or the town itself in terms of where did all of that $80,000 went to hanging in the wind. What's really bad is, the town mayor didn't do HER due dilligence and do the background check in full, on the one person who should have never been hired to begin with due to a felony conviction of grand larceny. Let that sink in and think on it for a while. That same person seems to feel that they don't have to explain where that money went to leaving the town mayor to seek a $ 100 K loan to get a well drilled, all while the septic system continues to plague the safety and welfare of all concerned. Think that over for a day or so.

Question so if there is an open insurance claim for the town shop, why was there not a claim from the water in the town hall that destroyed records-files.. it would be an idea to take claim money if there was any to replace what was lost like property line paperwork, sewer line paperwork ect...

@CarinMonroe I have been put on agenda, only recieved 2 minutes. At other times, they read what I wrote with zero reply, no follow up question, zero respect given. FACTS Next off at the current rate the town is spending more money on electricity and well maintenance than they are making. It costs more $ in accounting than the water is sold for.

Get your facts straight for once on all these meetings!!! people please watch video and DON'T only just read the commentary. Shaun Bell is NOT opposed (said several times) to water rates increase he'd like to keep his money in town and he is a local resident and has been for years he just wants to know why prices on non potable water are more than potable water if potable is so precious he is just doing research. Also the fence on 6th is 4 ft cause it is not on a corner only fences on corners need to be 36.5" and dump owner is mad about people driving on his CRP ground and it was never mentioned that dump closed forever Baldwin was disrupting (talking to others) meeting when he was leaving and asked to keep quiet and didn't like to be told that . Tanya did get answers on her fencing

Actually this is cut and pasted from the Lind code. 10.30.010 Definitions Third chapter down reads as follows: “Off-road vehicle” or “ORV” means a non-street-registered vehicle when used for recreational purposes on nonhighway roads, trails, or a variety of other natural terrain. Off-road vehicle or ORV includes, but is not limited to, all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, four-wheel-drive vehicles, and dune buggies. So for them to be trying to go after a street legal registered side by side is a violation of the written codes as published. Let alone how they have so many more important issues to deal with, as you stated.

For clarification and transparency purposes from Lind Town Hall: Playground Equipment - The Only reason that this subject was brought up many months ago was because of complaints that the existing climbing piece was in need of repair. WE NEED NEW - RITZVILLE’S PARK HAS MUCH BETTER EQUIPMENT! The company that the Lind Elementary used for its equipment was contacted and catalogs were sent. Councilmember Laura Dew expressed interest to become involved in the research. She had asked some grade-school-aged children to look at the catalog and choose pieces that they thought would be great to play on. Those selections were then given to the rep to price out. Depending on the selection of structure, the prices ranged from $2,836 to $32,351. At this point in time, research is being done; other companies have been contacted as well. NO PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN DECIDED UPON; ONLY BRAINSTORMING. NO MONEY IS BEING SPENT AT THIS TIME. NO GRANTS ARE BEING SOUGHT AFTER AT THIS TIME; BECAUSE NO EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN CHOSEN. What the Council does know now is - the equipment and play area that is currently in the main park is not ADA compliant.

Have to love how Paula asks the council how we're supposed to fund the well 7 project. All while making no effort to contact the USDA for the grant like she was instructed to do so BY THE COUNCIL! I sure hope this recall removes her, and the town can get back on track.

Only people I know making $60K a year on west side are all the DRUG dealers and thieves West side of town only has single residents except single wide with 10 people living in it using more water then 10 houses around me All the wasted $$ town keeps spending Why spend $$ to promote town when there is no water? why is Pool still open? Close pool and give me tax break on property tax please Mayor and town counsel Live on EAST side of town they never visit the GHETTO on west side of town They scared to visit I dont blame them They have car stolen and Robbed here Had 3 items stolen out of my front yard in last year Cops and Mayor dont care Why pay for sheriff if they cant do anything about thefts and Drugs? Town dont read meters past Wilber street One house filling up 250 gal water tank each week to water there livestock I guess cows are more important then residents No charge on meter so they dont care

Pretty sure the residents have know this was an urgent issue and impending emergency situation for a few years. Mayor didn't care, but now all of a sudden wants to declare an emergency. How about some forethought, planning, or preventative measures?
