I love Carol Pope. She's a gay icon. And every gay person who's a gen X can appreciate her tremendously..I cooked Lobster dinner for her CD launch release show at the flying beaver pubaret in Toronto. Lobster dinner to her and about 380 other LGB and the like fans. It was a fun night..But man , it was some hard work to cook that many lobsters for so many, but I did it, and all the prep work and the clean up dishes all on my own..Come to think of it I never really did get any appreciation for all that work. Not even the slightest of a bonus from the pub owners. Hmm. One of them was really fun to work with she was a really cool manager and very chill and laidback kinda go with the rhythm woman. She was a people person that's for sure, and very relatable. While the other was a pain in the behind and very self-absorbed high maintenance, always needing attention and validation, very insecure, she was a comedian type but not at all funny if you ask me.. I hear she was on her game many moons ago, for a very brief moment, and I do mean very brief. She was the most annoying person to work for and didn't know the first thing about running a restaurant, and probably the reason why it didn't remain for very long.. but other than that, it was a fun place to work play the brief time that I did work there. Needless to say I went downhill after I quit.... I guess I left just in time.. but I do miss the one owner she was very very cool. Oh And I did get to meet Carol Pope, she was pretty cool too.
