Great series and thank you Austin I feel for you at the end of this video but have learnt through your misfortune. I will be starting my adventure from Vancouver Canada in July 2025 and heading south down the Pacific Crest trail towards Mexico but My journey does not stop there. I will be heading onto South America then shipping to Europe to then head south circumnavigating Africa on to Asia and Australia then returning to Canada But I have learnt a lot from your video and maybe.....just maybe I am just one small sole that you have given a lesson to for his Adventure Cheers Mate for the added inspiration No doubt you Will definitely be mentioned in my documentation once I get my channel up and running I hope your mechanical family member is Fixed and as good as Gold now!

Hey man, I have a tundra and I am looking to do the same thing on my truck. How do you manage the “in bed weight capacity” on this tundra? I’m worried with this flatbed and camper will wear down my truck pretty quick over time.
@JanetteMalenich3 ай бұрын
Makes no sense when best performance is 18 to 36 inches from your device. So basically if it is in the center it's useless to any devices... for example, if you lay in the back of your camperbed and are using your mobile device or laptop it does not help, and it is also useless in the front swivel seats when i use my laptop or phone. I am in a ram promaster 3500 extended cab van and basically what im hearing is, I need two weBoosts because 1 isnt good enough, you need one for front and back of vehicle, and if 2 is not possible, the weBoost is really not as useful if not near you at all times.

What you would need for your situation is a desktop transmitter, the transmitter that comes in the RV package is the same as the desktop version. The desktop transmitter provides a radial signal up to 25’ away. And yes the tiny transmitter that comes in the overland package is trash 👍

🤔WolfPack question: I have the Longhorn Limited 2500 4x4. Love your bumper. Q: I have lights down on mine, that when I turn or, go into turns and signal, I have LED factory lights that come one bright and I assume go out or dim once straighten - Do your lights conduct this as setup, or did yours and does it still with the new lights? I'm still likely going to get one, I love the paint match option. Else, I'm stuck with going away from the factory looking, and go AEV black and brawny. I just would really like a real bumper/winch setup with the added guard plates and match well.

@@WolfPacOutdoors thanks for the info. I live in NY I’ve been trying to find the parts or place to get my truck regeared. How do you like the 5.29 with all the weight on the truck and 37s does it do the trick?
@WolfPacOutdoors7 ай бұрын
@wayned3137 5.29’s are perfect for how I have it set up. I know Nitro will let you ship your 3rd members to them and build it for you, however cost inefficient that may be for most. You should be able to place an order through them then take it to a local shop 👍

I use the annex/room attached to the awning with an air mattress. It’s waaay more than comfortable but definitely not rated for winter camping without a heater 👍

We are getting ready to sell out and go full time for at least 5 years and will be getting everything ordered this coming winter. How do you keep the water system from freezing while driving?
@WolfPacOutdoors8 ай бұрын
This is a question I was able to answer this winter when I spent a few months in Colorado. It ended up reaching temps as low as -10, which was more than substantial to freeze the pipes. However, the answer is longer than a text. I’ll see if I can make a short video showing you how I overcame that obstacle 👍 Congrats on choosing to start your full time adventure, good luck with it all 🙏

Did you feel a difference performance wise? Or get a nice intake sound?
@WolfPacOutdoors9 ай бұрын
I perceive a performance increase because of the air ram effect, not sure if there was ever any HP gains... however, I've found that my air filter stays cleaner longer and I explain this by having the air source above the wheel well where dust generally saturates when driving off-road.

Yeah no doubt about the point of no return… it wasn’t until I later had to replace the fender that I realized how simple a fender is to replace, literally 9 bolts and a few clips. Plus I’m a huge fan of having the intake out of the wheel well, especially when I was crossing flooded areas last fall, I would have been unable to cross most of them.

I left the original full mattress and I put a 4-in memory foam on top of it and it takes away the bottoming out and when you're a little off center with your vehicle the memory foam forms to your position and it cradles you reducing that feeling of rolling and a sleeping bag unfolded on top of the memory foam mattress when it's cold the flannel inside is up when it's hot I turned over and the shiny part of the sleeping bag is up works great
@WolfPacOutdoors11 ай бұрын
This is a great idea 🥳👍 biggest downside with sleeping was the comfort of the bed imo… I also put a vapor pad in to let the moisture evaporate from under the mattress ☺️

This is a wonderful series that deserves far more views than it has. I appreciate that you showed the emotional toll the stress of the accident caused you. It's not easy being vulnerable to the whole world. So many of these adventure videos skip over anything that goes wrong. Everybody makes mistakes and by showing the consequences, you're helping people avoid them on their own adventures. For anyone considering a similar solo adventure way off the beaten path, two points to consider are to carry a satellite communicator like a InReach or Zoleo and to slow down when you're carrying big loads. You can't drive like a Trophy Truck when you're carrying a 2000lbs camper. Thanks again for sharing your adventure and I'm glad you finally made it home safely.
