Great wedding film! I noticed the difference in your current wedding films and your older. Do you shoot in s-Cine tone or other profile or in S-log? Curious, because of workflow. Also, what lenses do you use outside of long zooms, primarily on your gimbal. Lastly, what cameras and do you shoot in 4K? Lots of questions, but just want to improve my workflow and think your style suits me well. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the compliments. The main difference is I stopped using an "earthy" LUT when editing. I now don't use a LUT and opt for a more natural coloring like the human eye sees. I shoot in c-log (I use Canon R5) 24-70 lens all day, my second shooter is on a 70-200 all day. I shoot in 4k but edit in 1080. I'm developing a workshop to help video folks mostly from the business side of things. We did one workshop a few years ago helping photographers jump into video. Wow! Such kind comments! I offer more as the packages increase. I offer a full ceremony video with ALL my packages. I shoot it with 3 to 4 cameras, and mic the minister, groom, and plug into the DJ board if there is one. For packages higher up, I offer what I describe as a "Documentary edit"; Basically raw footage, colored, of the events of the day in sequential order. I refer to it as "A high end home movies' sometimes haha

great tip, thank you for that. I've been shooting less things last couple of weddings and I felt strange that started doing that, but I felt I didn't need them and other weddings I've done I don't use these footages. I'm glad to get confirmation that it's better this way.

This video is pretty good, gezz 4 views, surprised. I have noticed wedding channels where they explain how they shot the wedding, camera lenses, planning people, poses, etc, find this more wide spread apealing. Maybe you could do a breakdown of how you shot the wedding. This may work better for your channel. Just a suggestion 🤔

@@jbraly that is for sure, been doing it for 6 years, have 5.5 k subs as a part time business. It is a lot of work. I think people have the same perception about weddings, "how hard can it be?" It is very hard, live events add a extra level of complexity. I have done my training in the trenches, YT and some live events already, very hard, but i do feel it gives me a great springboard for weddings. Your are pretty dam good, i see so many average weddings, and even people in the industry tend to over do them. Lets be really, everyone knows the story line and how much can you say? 10 minutes for a wedding video is completely absurd! No one other than the family will watch it.

This is so true: I am a youTuber and done thousands of videos, Broll etc. I am now moving into the wedding film space. One thing i don't get with wedding filmers is they just shoot things and shoot way to much. Like that is interesting, i better shoot that. This is so wasteful and unplanned. If you do a commercial or a KZbin video with Broll you need to be purposeful. Work out what the video is about, what is the story and what are the shots needed to convey the information. Otherwise people click off. So you need a plan. A shot list. Of course you will have magic moments to capture which are not expected, but overall have shots of couples planned, poses planned, etc. Most wedding videos i see are to long or have to many clips. Look at someone like Ray Roman, his shots are clearly planned and executed to perfection. Do this, you will have less clips to go through and better clips. This will make editing quicker as you already have a set plan and not aimlessly editing and filming a video. No video takes me 2 weeks. Couple of days only, a talking head, 2 hours. Done.

I did shot lists for a while but that ended up holding me back and all my work looked the same. Shot lists for events like weddings are fine to begin with but eventually you won't need them. You can anticipate almost anything at a live event once you've don't 100 or so

@@waynosfotos a shot list works for shoots where you know exactly what will happen, when it will happen, and how your talent will behave and feel. Weddings have plans and timelines that are almost always rocked due to weather, a pissy bride, an awkward couple, or a huge wedding party that is drunk before 1pm. Be ready to think fast
