Microwedding for the win!!!
I've sat here for about 5 minutes not knowing what to type. For people who are closest to me, they know it's rare that I don't know what to say at any given moment.
I really hate this part: Trying to fill the space with something meaningful and deep which ends up just being a rehash of what I typed the wedding video before with the same set of hashtags that we type hoping and praying that the algorithm gods smile upon our post.
This day felt different. I felt what it must feel like to watch your little sister get married. To watch her grow from a little girl to a woman in the span of 5 hours.
A girl I had never met in my life was, within 10 minutes of our meeting, suddenly like family to me.
And what a world I live in that me having a chance phone call with her sister Lindsey over 10 years ago to talk about a documentary idea, would lead to me being able to be a part of this day?
Heck, even watching the connection Michael had with his boisterous, give-the-shirt-of-his-back best man was just as beautiful a sight to see as was the image of Hannah in her wedding dress.
I think that's the advantage of elopements and micro-weddings for a vendor: We aren't just "a vendor" or "the help" or "someone they hired". You become part of the day, part of the group, part of the FAMILY.
I do love a big wedding; I'm a people person so large crowds are how I recharge. Big parties are my vibe. But days like Hannah and Michaels just seem "bigger" in a different sort of way.
May God bless Hannah and Michael with joy, laughter, pizza, and lots of kids!
