I have both paints and wasn't sure of the difference between them. Thank you for giving such an informative explanation. Much appreciated.

I was looking for a study like this on DS reds before I buy the paint, but couldn't find it anywhere. I am so glad you posted this video. One comment though: I assume there is NO NEUTRAL red in WC (and the same goes for the other primary colors, blue and yellow). So, I buy two reds: one with lots of yellow undertones, and the second with blue undertones. The reason is if I have to mix the red with yellow undertones with yellow, I want to get a nice orange hue. One the other hand, if I mix the red with blue undertones with blue, I want to reach to a nice violet. In other words, I always use split a wheel color chart in my palette to avoid muted colors. I hope this makes sense.

I ordered some of that brown tape, gummy tape, and it’s supposed to arrive today. But I don’t want it! I don’t like that mess of removal.

Thanks so much for sharing this video. I feel confident buying the larger sheets of paper now and don't have to worry about having a large paper cutter for it. Much appreciated!! :) You made it so simple to understand. :)

Nice set up! I use bulldog clips on my set up to pin my canvas panels to my work surface. Also, (it's an added burden but worth it on many fronts) I use a igloo water jug to anchor my tripod down. It works as a weight for those breezy days and it's a source of hydration as well. Happy painting!

I avoid touching my papers with my fingers. Even a single touch,can ruin the paper. I learned that the hard way and it was many times,until I stopped touching it. In many cases, people complain about the sizing of a watercolor paper. Well, there are many factors that can damage a paper, it doesn't mean that i was like that, when you bought it. I've noticed, that long term storage, isn't a good thing for watercolor paper either. Humidity, changes of the temerature and time, all are enemies to a good paper!! PS That's my personal experience.If anybody has something to add, or to correct, please I'd appreciate ir, I like learning,

I am switching to clamshell pouch, too. It is easier to see and get to. I got the stainless oil receptacle from Amazon but found it too heavy. I still use the plastic collapsible cups.

if you rounded out your collection with a PR255, PR254, and PR264, this will take you from an orange-red to mid-red, and then to a crimson red that is more lightfast than the alizarin crimsons.

I do not understand Neutral tint. A tint of a color is created by adding white to it. To creat a shade of any color you add black to. In each case you can contine to add black util you have true black. Or white until you have pure white. I do not understand Neutral Tint. A Neutral color is neither warm nor cool it is neutral.

Stillman and Birn make small watercolor journals with bright white or ivory paper. I have an Altoids tin like yours and even a smaller one. I use the inside lid for the mixing space and it works great. I cut a piece of a white plastic yogurt lid and taped it, with double stick tape, on the inside of the lid and it works great. You can also paint the inside of the lid with white paint to use it for a mixing area. Thanks for sharing your supplies with us. 🙂

I was wondering, when you have finished a watercolor painting and are ready to sell, do you preserve the watercolor or leave it as it is. If you do preserve it, how do you do that?
@AlisaLaporteArt

@craftideasCD Thank you so much!!
@AlisaLaporteArt
@AlisaLaporteArt Жыл бұрын
@@craftideasCD I'm not exactly sure what you mean by preserve the watercolor. After I finish I can just leave it as is, mat it, and frame it. As long as you use high quality watercolors with an excellent lightfastness your watercolors will last a long time without fading. I hope that answers your question.

@AlisaLaporteArt
@AlisaLaporteArt Жыл бұрын
@Francine T Jones great question, no it's not custom made it's called the New wave U.go , I have a link to it in the description. There are 3 sizes, I have the mid size and I love it! Definitely a little spendy but worth it with how light it is and the ease of setting it up, to it's sturdiness. I'm not sponsored, I just love it!
