Hey bro is the megasquirt plug and play or does it need mods to wiring, im on an aussie 323 protege sp20 , looks same but a sedan, FS-DE engine, FS7E 18 881C ecu

@@dudegalen The turbo used in this video was just oil cooled. It never blew up but i upgraded to a water cooler pulsar 6268

@@6268mazdawhere did you run the water return like for the turbo to? I’m gonna be turbocharging my protege here soon and I’m trying to figure out all the little kinks so it goes together smoothly

@ So there’s 2 coolant lines that go to your throttle body, just take those off the TB get a little hose to 8an line and route those two to the turbo. Those two lines come from the coolant housing on the right side of the head. Best of luck with the build if you got more questions hit me up on instagram @brotege5

What catless headers are those? (The non turbo ones) just finished a full motor rebuild and I’m not sure if I want to turbo it yet. I love this car too much even with it being slow as all fuck

love your shit man! just recently bought a p5 and unfortunately it lasted about 4 hours into owning it lol, and your videos genuinely give me the strength to keep fixing it. Because I'm able to imagine what a bit of hard work could do to this car. Keep up your shit dog, ill always keep watching. @@6268mazda I bought it from somebody but unfortunately I sent somebody who wasn't mechanically inclined to check it out and didn't realize the whole cooling system was rusted, which might have caused the headgasket to blow. It drove fine and wasn't overheating so I just assumed it wasn't a big deal. So now I gotta fix that and replace the entire cooling system lol. Overpaid the fuck out of it too so I'm not even planning to sale it, I'ma wreck it before that happens

Good times with the pulls at the end. I remember in my old turbo p5 I saw two cars fly by on the freeway, one being a VA STI and the other g37s or m37s. Caught up to both, lined up with the sti and dusted him, caught up with Infiniti, lined up and slowly pulled away and he was shocked a little hatchback was faster than his car and an sti. All smiles and laughs from everyone tho, very fun.

I blew 3rd in my 325hp turbo p5 build a few years back. It had an mfactory lsd, gtx 3rd and 4th gear swap. I just went open diff from there forward cuz wheel slip was better than blowing it up again . 3rd gear is the weakest and 4th gear is the strongest so do pulls in 4th

Just a little tip for next time, you can leave the power steering lines and ac lines connected and unbolt the accessories from the motor and let them hang so you can retain all the fluids. Love the videos man.

Im pretty sure we are in some of the same Mazda protege Facebook groups😂. Keep up the work man. The protege platform needs more drivers willing to mod them. Get a vacuum block for your boost gauge and blow off valve. They are super easy to hook up and you can get rid of a lot of your T fittings

sick mp5 bro! i need to get new wheels for my mp5 and i was wondering what are the size/dimensions for your wheels and tires? width, diameter, offset,.. also do your tires rub at all?

I do have a bit of rubbing up front but that’s bc it’s pretty low and i have a 15mm spacer upfront. I have 17x7.5 +38 5x114.3. I’d personally say go with 17x8.5 +35. they’d fit a lot better.

Just a heads up the T fitting for the BOV, you called the thing it was originally connected to a brake booster. It’s actually the unit for the cruise control. I simply deleted it since I never use it. Easiest option is to remove the plug and cut the line near the fire wall instead of pulling the dash out to get the wire disconnect. If you un plug it you won’t get any dash lights or throw a code.
