No, Melvin, Tarja would not have been singing this song. ;)

This is the greatest live solo but it's a bit of a modification because the solo on the Wall album isn't even close to this. As far as the solos on their albums are concerned, yeah, TIME is better than Comfortably Numb. The question is though, what counts as a solo and what doesn't? Several of Pink Floyd's "Instrumental" tracks are essentially superlatively long David Gilmour solos; "Marooned" from The Division Bell album comes to mind but I know that there are more on the Animals album, I just can't remember which one it was (Pigs or Dogs I think). There's just so much to consider but if a solo is considered an instrumental part of a song with verbal lyrics, then yes, I believe that the Pulse solo from Comfortably Numb is the greatest electric guitar solo in history.

This is definitely one of their heavier ones. Lead single from the 6th album, 2014's The Quantum Enigma. Lyrics by Mark(guitar/harsh vocals), music by Arien(drums). Yeah, please come back to sooner than a year, lol. When you do, a couple of heavier ones to try: "Design Your Universe" live from Retrospect 10th anniversary concert in 2013, and "Universal Death Squad", (official lyric video).

If you learn finger picking then Candy Man is usually one of the first songs you would tackle. But usually a simplified version. Muireann has added the extra bits and pieces that were in Gary Davis' original and they are a little tricky to master. She is an exceptional talent.

Surprising song selection, glad you still enjoyed it, even if you didn't follow our well-thought-out recommendation. Now we're really excited to see what you think of Unravel Live. You have now received some recommendations for this performance here. We wouldn't have thought about the Spotify playlist either, then we heard some of Ado's rock songs...

Well, it was mainly because The Charismatic Voice did a video a little while back. I didn't watch her video, but I saw it was "Show", had a look on Ado's channel and noticed it had a squillion views and thought to myself "Okay, let's do a studio track first so I can focus solely on her music". I love doing live stuff 99.9% of the time. Especially rock and metal bands. But sometimes in pop, dance etc. it doesn't always translate as well live, it's a risk. But I did remember your recommendation and it's next on my Ado list. Assuming people want to me to do it, of course. Which I think a few do 😬

"Show" is honestly a really good intro into ADO, because she is very much a Genre-Agnostic Singer. At best you could categorize her voice as having some Rock and even Metall-influences in there, but musically she has done alot of very different kinda songs, most of which are Covers but there are also some original. For something very different thats also out of your comfort zone, I would recommend "Odo". If you want something more in your wheelhouse, "Ussewa" or "RuLe".

Ado is sometimes referred to as J-Pop, but you can't actually fit Ado into a specific genre. She can and does sing anything. No matter what your typical taste in music is, there's bound to be at least one Ado song that fits it. My recommendation for you is Ado's live (!!) performance of the song Unravel.

"Ado" and "classified as" cannot be used in the same sentence, I'm afraid. 🙂 Every single of her originals is vastly different from all the others. Vocaloid has nothing to do with Ado’s artistry, yet it has everything to do with it as well! Vocaloid is a voice synth-software that generates vocals for a score and lyrics. There is a large community of fans dedicated to this type of electronic music, and many of the producers have gained recognition in Japan’s music industry, creating tracks for other artists as well as producing Vocaloid songs. Ado has a background in this community, having started out by making amateur covers of Vocaloid songs, which she posted anonymously online from the age of 14. This is how she was discovered and eventually signed by Universal Music Japan in 2020, at the age of 17. She carries this background with her and is explicitly keen to collaborate with Vocaloid producers to help bring their work into the mainstream. Most of her original songs are written for her and produced by these creators. This is why the term “Vocaloid” often appears in connection with Ado. However, Ado herself is not a Vocaloid artist, and Vocaloid voices are not used in her music, except in a few tracks (just one really) where she duets with Hatsune Miku, the most famous Vocaloid voice. To date, she has released two original albums, one official soundtrack for the One Piece Film: RED, and one cover album where fans voted for their favourite songs for her to perform, including both Vocaloid and non-Vocaloid tracks. Some of her most beloved and requested covers are from this album, such as Unravel (by TK) and Crime and Punishment (by Sheena Ringo). Altogether, her catalogue comprises close to 150-200 tracks with all and everything. Happy listening! Be careful though, it is highly addictive 🔥

Like i usually say, Ado is just not a metal vocalist by option because she's so technically impressive yet surprisingly adventurous with their voice that mixing harshness and softness is like a second language (so much so she's become a mentor already, more on that later) As a metalhead, she actually may be your cup of tea, as 'Show' is definitely NOT just a fluke in her discography, in fact, it does get harder and harder. For example: Crime and Punishment, starting with getting you in the feels, there is no not feeling this song. I don't have a lick of japanese in me but you really don't need to understand the language to get the emotion here. It goes hard. Usseewa, NOW WE'RE COOKING WITH FIRE. Fun fact, Usseewa was the first track Ado released as an utaite (over-oversimplification: freelance singer) and, well, let's just say that you mentioned to let the music do the talking and, well, given that Usseewa already means literally 'shut the f*** up', you can see where I'm going Aishite Aishite Aishite, absolutely unhinged, that's all I'm saying, especially the live version. She's not afraid of going ALL OUT at all! Bonus: Otomodachi by Phantom Siita, in the past year Ado has put together, personally mentored and is managing a group called Phantom Siita. "If idols are like butterflies, Phantom Siita are moths." With a motif of vintage horror, they're all kinds of hauntingly sweet when singing and not only you can definitely see Ado's influence, dare I say they expand upon it by being driven on a different 'fuel', a different approach, making them unique and not derivative.

"Show" is her the most POP-ish song. Ado is categorised as JPOP but in reality she jump between all genres, Rock included. So try: - "Unravel" - "Backlight" - "Tot Musica" - "Usseewa" - "RuLe" - "Buriki No Dance" - "Love ka?" - "Crime And Punishment"

JPOP essentially encompasses everything in the popular Japanese music industry. To me, JPOP simply means "Japanese".
@KenjaTimu2 күн бұрын
@SteffanGullichsen that is what pop music is supposed to mean everywhere. Popular music. But the pop music radio stations start excluding music that is popular but is a bit different. It happens in Japan too but it still includes Rock. At least I think it happens in Japan. I don't think Japanese radio plays Vocaloid even tho certain songs are definitely popular enough to at least make the top 40. All Back and Mezmerizer got 100 million views on KZbin in a year and i never saw them on any Jpop lists. KZbin is not totally representative of what is being listened to in Japan but it isn't that different. I know All Back was popular in Japan.

Yeah its not hard for us metalheads to like Ado, to me she reminds me of Mike Patton (Mr Bungle / Faith No More) not necessarily vocally but her by her approach to the vocals. Like Mike she's chaotic but also has some lovely parts and base that with a pop attitude of catchy hooks its a win win situation. Definitely do Unravel or Tot Musica next. I believe she was 19 when she did Tot Musica, she shows so much pure raw power on that song definitely not what you would expect from Pop or anyone at that age. Also a call out to Rule which has a fun aesthetic and Odo which has a latin / edm vibe.

@@melvinthinks You might be interested in the following songs of hers that are on the heavier side, apart from Unravel live -Usseewa live (though honestly the studio and even piano versions are worth a listen) -RuLe -Tot Musica -Backlight -Episode X -FREEDOM -Crime and Punishment (cover of Sheena Ringo) -Missing (written by Sheena Ringo for her as a result of the above cover) -Her jon-YAKITORY collabs Eat, Faking of Comedy, Rasen, Shikabanese -Her biz collab Tokyo Cannibalism Otherwise, there's also Rebellion (more pop-punk than hard rock or metal), Koi wa Sensou/Love is War (an older Vocaloid cover of hers, mixing is a bit rough but her screams are something on that one), KokoroToIuNanoFukakai (although it's more on the pop/pop-rock side, it's got some nice intensity and a banger riff), Buriki no Dance (same as previous, albeit it's a Vocaloid cover), or Lucky Bruto (a lot more experimental than anything else here, but it's quite dark and gritty in its own right and the music video's awesomely creepy) many of the above like Tot Musica also have live versions floating around that turn up the heaviness or intensity quite a bit, but they're unofficial uploads, so unless you're okay with that maybe just stick to the official releases

As Ado`s big fan I must carry this faith to the masses. #TheWorldADOmination Most of her song, independently is it a cover or is it her own song sounds like banger. Lyrics also full of meaning I recomend to listen next if not listened yet: 1. "Unravel" - cover on TK`s song. Imho, cover better than original. And also live performance of this cover from her better than studio version 2. "Ussewa" - her debut song, when she was 17 (1 day before 18) 3. "Shoka" - song written by Ado. This song made me scare twice, firstly when I listen an see AMV, secondly when I check lyrics... "Ado are you ok?" - that's all I could think about at that moment. I think it is saddest and anxious song from her 4. "Rule" - maybe the most aggressive song from her 5. Entire album with song for anime One Peace film Red 6. "Rebelion" - AMV looks like entire anime 7. "Crime & Punishment" - cover on Sheena Ringo`s song, that concentrate attantion on her vocal (your ears must be ready) 9. "Odo" - she tries on the role of DJ 10. "God-ish" - while listening firstly I thought that there ~10 vocalist 11. "I`m controversy" - playing around interesting sound effects 12 "Value" - collaboration with Apple (AMV on iPad), sounds pretty cool 13. "Kick back" - "cover" on Chainsaw-man op with surprise 14. "Aishite" - cover on Kikuo`s (Vocaloid) song. It is like "emotional roller coaster" 15. "Villain Utattemita" - a cover of a song with lyrics in English and Korean. 16. "Gira gira" - contains powerfull lyrics. 17. "Take me to the beach" - her collab song with Imagine Dragons I advice to watch AMVs firstly instead live version or advances subs version, because it contains a part of meaning and another detailes that can be lost in the live There are no all Ado`s songs present on the official channel. There is complete list of Ado`s songs. It contains now ~150 (covers, collabs, etc) kzbin.info/aero/PLY2mBsWVBIfYl2oAp-_VFzXcn60GfrwZb&si=80M-iW2RC87rnUZx If calculate from her first cover, it is looks like she releases new song each 18 days.
