The AUTHOR is clumsy. 1) Never hold the cooling from the edges, you can easily bend the pipes, you need to do it strictly from the center, everything is done rigidly there. 2) The AUTHOR terribly smeared the thermal paste to all edges, secondly, some Helios 300 have liquid thermal paste from the factory (liquid metal). Just take an old T-shirt and remove the thermal paste with it, not paper. And of course, wearing gloves will not make you a pro. The fans need to be removed temporarily and re-greased inside. Do not do as in the video.

I want to ask you a question. Thermal liquid metal paste is used in my ASUS ROG STRIX G513RM HF267 laptop. As far as I understand from the videos on KZbin, it is only applied to the processor. There is thermal paste on the other one. I wonder if it will be 2 years since I used the laptop. Should I renew it after the 2 years when the warranty of the laptop is over? Can I apply liquid metal to the processor or graphics card where thermal paste is applied? By protecting it with kapton tape. Sir, they probably used liquid metal only on the processor of the device and there is thermal paste on the other graphics card. My warranty will be up in a few months. Is there a need to renew the liquid metal paste in 2 years? If I need to renew the thermal paste of the other graphics card, which seems to be the period. Now what I mean is that if Asus applied liquid metal to it, there should be no liquid leakage during use. Because the laptop is a portable device and I do not carry it all the time, it has only been on my desk since the day I bought it. Should I apply it to the other graphics card as well? Copper classic pipe. No aluminum. They already painted the pipes black. I'm waiting for your answer.

help me My rog 15 lap was serviced a week ago. He put thermal pads and thermal paste. But now the temp jumps to 90' in the gpu. My inbuilt came with thermal liquid metal. What do you do with this?
@koolingmonster8 күн бұрын
I understand that your ROG 15 laptop's GPU temperature has risen to 90 degrees after replacing the thermal pads and thermal paste, which is concerning for you. Since your laptop originally used liquid metal for cooling, switching to thermal pads and thermal paste may not yield the expected cooling performance. I recommend checking the following points: 1. Confirm the quality of the thermal pads and thermal paste: Poor quality thermal materials may lead to decreased cooling efficiency. 2. Ensure that the thermal pads and thermal paste are installed correctly: Improper installation may also affect cooling performance. 3. Clean the cooling area and reapply the thermal paste: You can use alcohol or isopropyl alcohol to clean the old thermal paste. If the thermal paste has hardened, you can use our KLEAN-01 thermal paste cleaning wipes. After cleaning, you can reapply with our high-quality KOLD-01 thermal paste. If none of the above methods resolve the issue, I suggest contacting the technician who originally repaired your laptop or seeking assistance from other professionals.

For DIY users, we recommend using thermal paste instead, as liquid metal can be risky. Even a small spill on the motherboard could render the laptop unusable. The thermal material on the VRAM doesn't necessarily need to be replaced. If it really needs to be changed, it's important to consider that regular thermal paste may flow too much and become ineffective. Therefore, using high-quality thermal paste, such as our KOLD-01, still delivers excellent performance!

Our tests have shown that our product outperforms the original. You're welcome to give it a try! Our thermal paste is a high-end product on the market, different from standard thermal pastes. Regular thermal pastes are solvent-based, and their solvent evaporates under heat, causing them to dry out. Our KOLD-01 uses an exclusive solvent-free formula, which perfectly addresses this issue, providing superior thermal performance and longer-lasting durability.

This is false information. It’s been proven with non conductive paste that you can pour a cup full onto your cpu and everything is completely fine and the cooling is unchanged. The efficiency has diminished returns but it does not get worse with too much paste. It just stops getting better and you waste thermal paste. Stop spreading false information.
@koolingmonsterАй бұрын
Thanks for your input! While it’s true that non-conductive thermal paste isn’t electrically harmful in large quantities, applying excessive amounts can still negatively impact performance in real-world scenarios. @@Too much paste can create an uneven layer, leading to poor contact between the CPU and the cooler. Additionally, the excess paste can spill over and make cleaning or maintenance more difficult. Thermal paste is most effective when applied in a thin, even layer, sufficient to fill microscopic gaps for optimal thermal transfer. While diminishing returns are expected with excess paste, proper application ensures the best results for both efficiency and practicality. Additionally, our products have been tested and certified.

@koolingmonsterАй бұрын
It sounds like your hard disk's health is a major factor in the performance issues you're experiencing. A failing hard disk can cause significant slowdowns and stuttering in games, as data cannot be accessed efficiently. Replacing the hard drive with a new one, preferably an SSD, should drastically improve loading times and overall performance. In addition, poor cooling performance of the laptop can also lead to a decrease in performance. You may want to check if a new layer of thermal paste is needed. Feel free to try our products!

You left the old flaked paste on the other chips?
@koolingmonsterАй бұрын
The surrounding chips are video memory, which do not have high thermal requirements. The manufacturer typically uses thermal pads or thermal putty for these areas. As long as the original material hasn't dried out or cracked, it can continue to be used. If you decide to replace these materials with thermal paste, we recommend using our thermal paste, as the gaps in these areas are often too large. Most commercially available thermal pastes are too fluid and may leak. Our thermal paste is specially optimized for flow control, ensuring this won't be an issue.

Can I replace thermal putty with thermal pads? Will they be efficient/safe?
@koolingmonsterАй бұрын
Yes, you can replace thermal putty with thermal pads, but there are some factors to consider: Efficiency: Thermal pads and thermal putty are both designed to fill gaps and conduct heat from components (like CPUs or GPUs) to heatsinks. However, thermal putty generally provides better thermal conductivity due to its malleable nature, which allows it to fill in all gaps, including microscopic ones, ensuring maximum contact and heat transfer. Thermal pads, while effective, may not conform as well to all surfaces, which could slightly reduce efficiency compared to thermal putty. Safety: Both thermal putty and thermal pads are safe to use, as they are non-conductive and stable under heat. However, when replacing putty with pads, make sure the thickness of the thermal pad matches the gap it needs to fill. If it’s too thick, it may prevent proper contact with the heatsink; if it’s too thin, it might not provide adequate heat dissipation, potentially overheating the component.

I got an older omen 16, with i7 11800H and 3070, and it runs very hot while I benchmark it using 3D Mark TimeSpy, CPU runs at almost consistent 99-100 degree on the CPU test, and GPU runs at consistent 87-88 degree. I don't know the VRAMs and the VRMs temperature tho.... I want to repaste the CPU and GPU die using Arctic MX-6 and I want to replace the thermal putty on the VRMs and VRAMs with 0.5mm thermal pads from cooler master my question is: is it okay to use 0.5mm thermal pads for the VRMs and VRAMs instead of using the thermal putty (that already there in the first place)? or should I just use the Arctic MX-6 for the VRMs and VRAMs as well? Thanks you to share your thoughts on this comments, I'd appreciate it a lot
@koolingmonsterАй бұрын
Here are some recommendations for your Omen 16 cooling upgrade: 1. VRM and VRAM: Thermal Pads vs. Thermal Putty Feasibility of Using Thermal Pads: 0.5mm thermal pads are typically suitable for VRMs and VRAMs, but only if the thickness matches the original thermal putty used by HP. Many manufacturers choose thermal putty because it fills uneven gaps, whereas thermal pads may not make consistent contact in different areas, leading to suboptimal cooling. It’s recommended to check the original putty’s thickness first. Advantages of Thermal Putty: Thermal putty is more flexible and adapts better to surfaces with varying heights. If the original putty has uneven thickness, you may need to use a softer thermal material instead of a uniform-thickness pad. 2. Using Thermal Paste on VRMs and VRAMs Yes, but the gap between the VRAM and the heatsink makes it hard to keep them in a fixed position. Most thermal pastes on the market are of poor quality, with excessive fluidity, making it difficult to achieve optimal performance. Besides, you're welcome to try our KOLD-01 thermal paste! It's different from the standard thermal paste you mentioned. The key difference is that regular thermal paste uses a solvent-based formula, which evaporates when heated, causing the paste to dry out and lose its thermal conductivity. Our unique solvent-free formula solves this issue, offering better cooling performance and a longer lifespan for use on laptops. Hope these tips help, and best of luck with your upgrade!

@@koolingmonster Thank you for your reply, and thank you so much for your recommendation. I already did repasted my CPU and GPU using Arctic MX-6 and using thermal pads for my VRM and VRAM. I did notice that some of the small chips around the VRM (which I didn't know what that is) are needed to use 1.5mm thick thermal pads, and luckily I did have that with me so it's not a problem for me, but just need to keep in mind. After that process I did get significantly better performance, even I didn't properly clean the fan and the heatsink from dust. I did my benchmark test and got 82 average CPU temp and max on 85, and I also got 75 average temps for the GPU with peak temp on 81. Thats a huge improvement considering I didnt use any cooling pad or stand to improve the cooling. I got that improvement by using only thermal pads, I really want to try out your suggestion for using thermal putty for the VRM and VRAM to further improve the cooling performance on this laptop. big thanks for you👍

Hello, it’s recommended to replace the thermal paste every 6 months to a year.
