This presentation by RC Sproul is very disingenuous - even sinister. He knows better, yet he manipulates the High Priestly Prayer to propagate his false understanding of the gospel. Jesus prays to the Father,, "I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world... While I was with them, I kept them in your name... and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction... "(Jhn 17:6, 12 ESV) Note all past tense in all the verbs. This is a reference to the 11 apostles who are with him in the upper room. This is not a description of how people become Christians. Everyone receives sufficient grace from our benevolent God to be saved. The ordo salutis (order of salvation) is simply; hear the gospel, believe the gospel, receive the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13) It's unfortunate that R.C. Sproul deceived so many and that now it's too late for him to undo the damage he has done. Unfortunately, many others are making the same mistake and, like R.C. Sproul, will learn the truth the hard way.

In these videos which I love watching and learning from. It is my personal believe it is disrespectful to change RC Sproul face multiple times while showing the video. This is not a cartoon, so if you choose to put his face on the video then please make it only one for the entire video. Again I feel it is disrespectful to RC Sproul legacy and very distracting.

I would guess you veer towards Norman Geisler’s Calvinism.

My guess is that rather than staged, these videos are stolen-it’s the cheap pirated VHS tape deal all over again: making money from somebody else’s efforts. These audio is the great work of Dr. Sproul, no question; the video? No way. (Ligonier Ministries publishes the original videos I think on KZbin.) And why the fake video images anyway!? They’re nothing but distraction.

I think the fulfillment of the time of the gentiles refers to the beginning of that time period, not the end of the time period. So the time of the gentiles was fulfilled when Jerusalem was surrounded and ultimately destroyed, Israel is now spiritual

The reason they did not lose their identity is that Jewishness is a religion(cult?) not a nationality. You can covert to Judasim, or from it - the God obeying Jews all converted to Christianity after Christ, the others remained with the Pharisees, and those that call themselves Jews today inherit from this tradition.

This aligns with my own belief and understanding. I always tell people that God gives us a free will but in order for Him to accomplish His goals He sometimes leans a little on the scales. This would be consistent with that belief. I think this is exactly what the Bible is teaching.

I love listening to RC Sproul, BUT I don’t like the way this video changes in this and other videos like this. Just place a picture if you don’t have a true video. My opinion is, it just seems disrespectful to RC Sproul. His face changing and his / words are not in sync. Thanks.

I am a Calvinist, because that’s what I believe scripture teaches. And so I also believe in the doctrine of unconditional election.. However, I wish someone could explain a little more about Jacob and Isaac. I understand that God chose each for His divine purpose, but nowhere does the Bible tell us that Esau or Ishmael are not saved (also the elect). I don’t think we can assume they were not believers, and therefore not elect. Scripture tells us each of them was blessed. If anyone has anything to share, i’d love some additional insight to help my understanding on this.

Did God not ostensibly create all people? Does he not apparently have complete sovereignty over all he creates? Does he not supposedly determine the character of people he creates? (Did he not choose to "harden Pharaoh's heart" so that the man had absolutely no choice?) Yet "God" gets to choose whom he saves and whom he does not, banishing to eternal torture those he does not chose to "save." "God" is obviously happy with torturing FOREVER the vast majority of his human "creation" just so he can be worshiped by those who "get it"... those whose synapse somehow make the connection to believe. That kind of immorality is worse than Hitler. (At least Hitler's victims ostensibly might have had Heaven as their destination. God offers no such second chance.) God supposedly creates us, with a pre-determined bent to believe him or not. Then he eternally punishes those he FOREKNEW he wouldn't save, to suffer forever. And Christians say ATHEISTS are immoral! This, and all religions, are made up.

That fact that Christians cannot agree on such a basic tenet of their faith as salvation is just another huge red flag for those who use reason (the brain God gave them?).

Video is weird, but the words "elect" and "election" are certainly in the Bible. EX: Matthew 24:31 "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
