I cant have conclusions about specs without testing them? Seriously? How would people make purchaee desidions if they couldt do that? The conclusions I share in the video is why I dont want to buy it.

My disappointment as a GH6 owner that started with the GH5 (not owning the GH7) is that they 1. refuse to add Focus stacking to the GH6 and GH7 that was available in the GH5 and 2. that the livestream capabilities are limited to 1080p. The GH5mk2 had this already and they didn't bother to push this feature much further? As you can see, yes as a GH6 owner I still feel betrayed by Panasonic for releasing the GH7 this fast while reviewers praising 32 bit float audio which is only available if you add 500$ to your purchase in the first place. They could have done so much more but still refused to do it. Almost as if they forgot that castrating your camera is actually bad. They didn't even add higher bitrate options for 5.8k open gate mode even though it surely could handle it.

Your video has made me curious about this little rascal of a camera, although I must confess I can't really say I NEED it. The drawbacks you mention aren't really major, at least not to me (although no log is a bit of a bummer). Just wish it would retail for a bit less, better keep my eyes open for a sale. Good video! 👍

my best friend works on TV commercials as a video village guy. he says they do shoot in 4k but in the final product its always 1080p. for my self there is verry little affordable support for 4k like switchers ,monitors and hard drive space. I bought a computer that has a processor and hard drive capable of dealing with 4k but use 1080p so I have a ton of space. when shooting for pond5 I Shoot in 4k because that's what sells. not that I ever sold anything lol. so that's a waste of money spent because the industry want's to sell every one the latest and greatest. gear is not going to make you a better videographer .either your a geek or an artist.

Out of the many cameras I have, GoPro is the only one that has problems. I have learned to deal with that and the image quality but there is no excuse for reliability issues. A cheap lens and small sensor make high resolution video and pictures pointless and even my 27mp Hero 12 can't come close to the image quality and detail of my 6mp Nikon. On paper they look incredible but in the real world things are a bit different. I think in good lighting with the right settings they look good for what they are but the reliability issues and broken features are unacceptable.

Eh, I think this was reasonable advice in 2014 but not now. Computers can handle 4K a lot better than they used to, and the additional resolution has a lot of benefits. Even if your final product is 1080p, shooting in 4K will make it look better and give you more reframing options. There are a lot of affordable 4K cameras these days, especially on the used market. Plus, the 4K cameras often have other useful features like in-body image stabilization and better audio functionality because cameras have all just improved as time has passed.

Hi TS, thanks for the video. I have a few questions if I may please? 1) Is this DesView compatible with my Sony Alpha ZV-E10L (which is the same as your camera I think)? 2) I can't find the specific DesView model you're using in this video on Amazon, you haven't got a link have you please? And 3) Can I zoom in up to 30mm on my Sony camera onto myself without the rim of this teleprompter being in the sight of the video do you know? Sorry I'm fairly new to KZbin and also have no idea how teleprompters work, how to attach them, or which is best. I've never used them but I cover such complex subjects that after 10 months of youtubing, I think I need one. Thanks, Joe.

Interesting... There seems to be two overlapping issues at play: 1. the obsession to document everything, and 2. the compulsion to digitally horde those documents (images/videos). I can relate to both of those desires... Yet, I do feel like I'm getting "better" on both fronts. Only a few times in life do I regret not capturing a moment, which usually pertains to seeing a moment of pure beauty that I can't get my camera out in time or something like that... The next issue with storage, I have tons of terabytes of files across several external SSDs or hardrives, but I have very little saved to the cloud, but now, I love doing "Spring Cleaning" on old folders and deleting old photos and videos... It feels cleansing to remove the junk and empty the trash. I also delete all my A rolls for videos within a month of publishing and immediately delete all my rendered files. Again, it just feels like a digital colonic. However, I do back up some important folders but not as much as I probably should. I have this sense that if a hard drive gets corrupted, which I've had happen, and lost but later retrieved, 2tbs of footage, it was footage I didn't really need... because in the grand scheme of things, I don't need any of it. Yet, this sensibility only emerged when I started posting on KZbin because I feel like that's my true external documentation and storage... and the more videos I publish, the "safer" my memories feel. That all being said, I don't think there's a right or wrong way to handle data or... or face our fleeting memories. Yet, there probably is some equilibrium around non-attachment and holding things sacred, and I'm sure I haven't found that balance yet either.

I dont keep a-rolls for youtube videos either. But the massive ammounts of random photos and clips sometimes gets to me. The video clips are good for b-roll and stock videos. And actually im constantly surprised how pleased I am that I kept certain clips. Like the other day I found very old clips of me working at workplaces 15-20 years ago. Will be good b-roll for the Tom scryleus channel.

Did you say magapickles? What about open gate? That's a huge feature for content creators. The S5ii also does it. Really, the GH7 is only lacking internal ND filters. BTW, it does ok in low-light unlike the GH6. The Sony A7Siii actually has some significant noise at ISO 10000.

I really enjoy the iPhone 15pro footage and it is a good back-up to my zv-e1 but I still l love the image that comes out of the zv-e1 especially in low light . For poorly lit rooms and anything after early evening Smart phones and even 1 inch sensors struggle in low light and even their stability starts to suffer due to the Algorithm they use . The one thing I really thought should be better on current smartphones is the terrible light flares ( green balls ) especially in low light . I filmed on the iPhone 12pro max for a year and at the time I really thought the image was good enough but those green balls/orbs were always a pain . As a travel KZbinr I think that its important to grab a high quality video even if the audience today does not appreciate it , I do and maybe viewers in the future will too .

I watch a quite few travel channels that the content creators are using a phone, a GoPro and a drone. Other channels may use a Sony A6400 or Sony A7S3. If you are honest with yourself, and not trying to nitpick, the iPhone and GoPro video works as well. Camera Geeks get hung up on specs, but a high resolution sensor or 10 bit color does not matter to most people. Image stabilization matters more, and the iPHone and GoPro do this better. If you are shooting a wedding, then the camera makes more sense, if it is staionary on a tripod.

Looool. This video is 4 years late. The camera market has been shrinking steadliy until 2020, when it was at it's lowest. Since then, it has been getting bigger EVERY YEAR, with Sony having a very strong lead on the market in new mirorless cameras sold (but most brand are expanding too, for example fuji making the biggest splah in recent and old history with the X100VI). And it's projected to grow eveery year until at least 2030. The numbers are easy to find on google. Every hobbist who don't need a camera got rid of it years ago and a lot of traditionnal jobs in the insdusrty did disapear too. But social media made up a new market, for photo AND video, yes you can absolutely start with a phone, but to increase quality you need to go with a real camera, some go at least APSC, most go FF to level up. And it drives "normal" people to those cameras too, with a strong appeal to the vintage (film camreras and esthetics) and retro style (fuji again with tiktokers and X100V). As a community manager I know a lot about that (since 2020 I invested thousands in APSC gear)

It‘s quite the opposite. What you discribe is something that has happened over the last years. Lately there is a strong trend back to real cameras. If it’s compacts or bigger stuff. In terms of pictures I don’t see that smartphone are coming closer, but in the video department, I think we all found ourselves using an iPhone etc. just because it’s so convenient and the material looks nice and stable. But like I said, there is a strong trend back to APS-C and FF. The big mistake that was made from most companies is, to not push their APS-C models. FF is overkill for 95% of the hobbyists out there. Companies love FF, as they earn more money with it, but it makes no sense and results to often in frustration.

As a pro, I can say that you can definitely tell the difference between the iPhone imagery to a pro cam. I use Sony A systems as well as a Black Magic 6k Pro and started off with the Canon 5D III. If you're doing stuff for Insta or TikTok or whatever, I would say you 100% don't need a pro level cam. But if you're serious into Photography or Videography, you can't beat a pro level cam.
