I'm from Los Angeles. The concept of taking a pub tour on foot is alien to us. We only tour by car. In LA, If you walk places on foot, its so unusual that police may stop and question you. California apparently has a law against walking places.

You should've gone in the Roman Bath pub by the Ferris wheel (if you haven't already) as it's got a great viewing window set into the bar/floor to let you look down at a Roman bath house that was discovered under the pub.

the imposing castle at Lancaster (5:55) is where in 1612 the witches of pendle were held. many were executed as have been many others over the years with the castle becoming a prison. i only visit Lancaster rarely for part of my work but i was given a visit to the cold underground cell within the prison where the witches were held and a big brass ring in the stone floor where they were shackled then a well that they were dunked into until they confessed. i was also told that some prisoners due for execution over the years were taken by wagon into town and given a sort of last drink of ale before the rope. ehen asked by the bartender if he would like another drink they were told 'he can't ..he's on the wagon' they claim that is where that phrase of not drinking 'i'm on the wagon' came from. cheers mate enjoyed the video,

Good choice of pubs. I'm from York, the Cozy Clubs location is in a building that was originally a cinema, the Golden Ball is referred to (by some of the older generation, like myself) as the 'Brass Bollock'.

Went to Whitby this time last year, raining and very busy, would love to go when out of season, felt like I was constantly being pushed past everything I wanted to see and couldn't stop anywhere not that this was anyone's fault, wonderful pretty place though and really enjoyed what I saw

Nice video thanks…….we were staying in Woking, but due to roadworks at the main junction, there was anything but moving swiftly on, a bad half hour jam just a few yards from the turn off. But it was well worth the trip even with the traffic jam. Went back via the minor roads

I once visited the (overrated) Bury market and found it to be very disappointing and a waste of time! Nothing appealed to me in that market, and the DVDs sold on one stall were, and still are, quite expensive! What a rip off! Is it cheap up north? It bl**dy isn't! Furthermore, there is no such thing as a proper market trader anymore, as they have been replaced by rogues, cowboys, chancers, con/scam artists, idiots, and clueless idiots!

One of my favourite sites. I only work in Heywood so spend many weekends at Burrs. The Brown Cow is a fab pub and serves nice but basic pub food every day. Love the video!
