The art on that first card is really breathtaking! I really like what you said about internal vs external judgement. Moving this card away from the biblical type of judgement where one creator-god is doing the sorting. Tulsi is a great choice for this theme! I always learn something new when you talk about plants.
@SparklingLotusInk5 күн бұрын
The Drowning World deck is definitely a visual masterpiece. Tulsi is an amazing magical/healing agent. This year, the plants communicated a lot of info and ideas about working with them in new ways. In another eight weeks I'll begin growing next year's crop under lights in the basement. Love when they are established enough to release their scent when I brush against the leaves!

Hi Acey! Brilliant choices🎺 We are living in pretty incredible times for sure. Good judgement is so important ….more so than ever. I must say, Your take on social credit scores was surprising. I agree they sound good on paper but have you seen the Black Mirror episode “Nosedive”? It’s a pretty interesting exploration of social credit scores in a modern tech savvy America. A must watch! And a good reason Not to implement them. Sending my love and blessings! ❤
@SparklingLotusInk6 күн бұрын
Candy 💖 I just searched on "social credit scores" because I had thought it was something completely separate from the FICO arena but I see I was wrong, and riffed on what I imagined rather than what-is. Still a bit attached to what I thought it meant, so I'll have to come up with a different name for the concept that bloomed in my mind when I saw those words. I thought it was about measuring oneself/being measured by others in terms of view hits/followers-subscribers, etc. (basically "worthless" things in relation to personal evolution/enlightenment.) Now that I'm aware of my mistake, I consider it generous and kind of you to refer to my take as "surprising". Will definitely watch the Black Mirror episode you recommended. Having an enjoyable laugh at my own expense. (possibly irrelevant: a few weeks back I discovered an old file folder full of magazine pics of Keanu Reeves. Thought of you as I was looking through them...)

I grew pineapple mint after you mentioned how well it combined with chamomile. Thought my Virgo husband might like it. The mints were tiny plugs when I put them in the ground. That considered, they both set fine and prolific roots but it wasn't much of a harvest. They fit neatly into a ounce ounce glass cosmetic jar I purchased with 'Solstice gifting in mind. Laughed when I saw the results. But it's enough for three or four shared cups of tea. Glad to take this opportunity for spurring that addition to the garden.

' The decks are so good. This particular character has one of the coolest/quietest redemption arcs. (Of course I realize that whenever a character makes contact with me, seemingly of their own volition, that's essentially creative cauldron energy bubbling up from own right brain.) Decks have become a big part of my writing process, in part because tarot/deck creation/intuitive reading have an ongoing story arc within the trilogy. The card Mascha had too is stunning.. the tower moment can feel like you are splitting apart.. total metamorphosis ❤ I nearly chose the El goliath card too.. 😘🌻
@SparklingLotusInk3 ай бұрын
I have a lot of trouble letting go more generally, but tower energy plays by its own rules and I do my best to accept that. Also feel instinctive empathy for what you shared of current reality and letting go. But I also know once we're actively healing, it becomes easier to discover ways (large and small) that nearly always guide us closer to our true selves in ways that are very significant, no matter how small or inconsequential they may seem. Your version of this video is first on my list once I have a chance for relaxing and paying attention. 💜

I have always had an aversion to the Urban Tarot death card. It made my skin crawl. Your insights on this card helped me sit with it, understanding that the feeling it invokes in me, is exactly what it is supposed to invoke. Indeed a very powerful Death card for the age we live in. Your truthful words for the Bee Tarot Death card, resonate deeply. What a dangerous game is played. I am intrigued by the Pholarchos Tarot. Multi layered images and you so eloquently shared how the Pholarchos Devil played out for you during your year of the Devil. Amazing video. Thanks for sharing
@SparklingLotusInk3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for this comment! It is a really creepy card (Urban Tarot). I read in the guidebook that the person who posed for the image is a professional artists model who was told to look at the deck creator with complete disdain. It took me quite awhile to stop shuddering at the image. Not sure I’ll ever get to that point with the Bee devil. But they are both great examples of the Tarot evolving in pace with the present tense and our variety of odds and obstacles. The Pholarchos deck is a strong favorite of mine.

The devil is such a common denominator in our human lives, isn't it. I love the Odyssean Devil. Sometimes we have to suffer for our convictions. I think it's interesting that even after a lifetime of lessons and enlightenment, addiction can reach out and grab a person. I almost picked the Urban as well, but I think it might be a little too close to home for me. NYC was a lot of this for me. Clubs and drugs as a young woman. The dangerous guys who were almost as addictive as the cocaine they offered. Woof. Too familiar. 😎 Every time someone talks about Goliath, I am tempted... but I never seem to come around. 🤔

Ack. I am answering these comments on my phone and just deleted my response to you by mistake . Forgot to acknowledge your anise hyssop observation. It self seeds happily and has become a mainstay (as well as jewelweed) in this part of the property's nectar highway. I only brought one plant of it from my former garden and the colony gradually settled-in at this particular part of the dooryard. I take roughly a third of the flowers for my family's use and leave the rest for the winged ones and seed production. The plants in pots winter over in the dog run and get enough sun to keep the roots and seeds in good shape, year after year.
