I ordered these rods but now the tub sits too high and I can’t put the top back on. Any ideas on what the problem is? My washer is inoperable now. It’s the exact same model and ordered the same aftermarket rods.

Found the issue, please remove the link to the rods you’re suggesting. They are causing a lot of people problems because they aren’t the correct length.

Hi, I just attempted the fix described on my LG WM3170CW using parts LG6501KW2002A and 6877ER1016H. Unfortunately, the washer went from spinning poorly before declaring LE, to wiggling the drum a quarter inch with every attempted cycle before giving up after two minutes and throwing up an LE error code. Do you have suggestions as to what I should do in this situation? I believe the rotor splines are engaging the drum (hope I got the terms right), as they do all spin, though with some resistance. (Resistance is a best guess, it’s been a week since it ran properly) Thank you for your very helpful video, I appreciate your making it.

7/16/2024: I followed your video instructions, and I'm glad to say that your guidance was spot on as the solution worked the first time. You made it a very pleasant experience, and the replacement part was less than $10 to resolve the LE error. Getting the tech here just to to diagnose the issue was going to cost $119. Sweat equity did it. Many thanks for the assist! ✌

Thanks from Northern CA (and thanks for the quick reply). Big time saver for a part that breaks every two years. I was given multiple estimates from $350-$150 for labor and $100 for the part (bought it for $32 on Amazon). I recommend latex gloves to avoid cuts from the sharp metal inside. The LG model I worked on is an all-in-one washer/dryer but the components are basically the same. I kept the hoses on for convenience and shut off the water to the house. I did it a bit differently- I removed the two screws holding the rubber grommets to the pump/pump housing and was able to twist it to get access to the screws (only two were there) for the pump. Also recommend reading the comments from others as they had helpful tips as well. Take your time, folks, and you'll get it done!

Thanks for the video, but I have a couple suggestions that should make it easier for beginners like myself. 1. Mention that the metal on the inside is EXTREMELY sharp. I cut myself on the forearm which required six stitches. 2. Take an existing rod out and measure it before you order. I have the exact same model that is used in your video. I used the link in the description to order the rods. I verified that the model number was listed in the description on the Amazon ordering page. The rods that came were just over 26", while the existing rods are 27". 3. Instead of trying to use one hand to disconnect the tension cables (this is where I cut my arm), remove the pack panel of the washing machine. This is done by removing the four screws on the back. This opens up the back of the machine allowing greater access to the suspension cables. 4. Be really careful while the lid is being propped up. If it slips, like it did on me one runs the risk of disconnecting some existing cables. This happened to me and cut the grounding wires (green, green/yellow wire) on the rear left side. 5. Like someone mentioned before, do a re-calibration before using. I'm bringing these issue up so others don't make the same mistakes that happened to me. I have replaced the rods and the washing machine works like new. Thanks again for the video.

I have this machine and it’s 3 years old. Worked great with any size load up till this year. Started getting Ub codes so I replaced the spring rods and that didn’t work. Replaced them with off brand and those didn’t work. I am down to spinning two articles of clothing at a time. What else is there to replace for unbalanced loads?
@appliancerepairamerican
@appliancerepairamerican 18 күн бұрын
@@chadsrt The obvious is getting a level and making sure the machine is level. on that model you will need to take the top off to get a square edge to put a level on. the 4 feet are adjustable. The Samsung OEM suspension is very expensive, but it is recommended. Call this number and have you model number ready to get OEM parts: 800-347-2745. Other than that some Samsung have a Tub ring with fluid in it that is supposed to help balance the machine. That could have gotten a hole it or may have a problem with it. Best of luck

Right before you take the coin catch out, ours was anchored w a screw that we could not access. The small carve out at the center bottom of the metal face was not sufficient. We took two drill bits using a smaller one first to prevent drilling into the screw holding the coin catch. This machine did not have the same screw. Just wanted to share our solution to be able to remove the pump. We figured that assembly is inconsistent with each rendition of machine.

Thank you for the video! I have the same machine and when the cycle to drain the water begins, water starts leaking from somewhere at the bottom. I say somewhere cos I dunno where the water is leaking from. Could it also be due to the drain pump? Or could it be due to one of the pipes leading from the drain pump?
@appliancerepairamerican

Could be. Leaks are not to difficult to diagnose. Water comes in through valves then through soap dispensers, into drum then out the center boot/ hose under drum, then through drain pump and out the drain hose
