Thanks! It did not work out for me in the long run. Torch was constantly shifting as soon as it ignited.(X axis and y axis motors went mad for a second) So i got a dedicated control for it. Done proper grounding as per the book😅. Working like a charm since then. I have done long runs of 8-9 hours of non-stop cutting upto 12mm. Still using the cheap HF plasma source. Look out for the video "New control for bench type cnc plasma". Best of luck.

Also, Ditch the laptop. They simply cant handle the havoc caused by HF PLASMAS. If i were you, i would definitely try my luck with an old desktop with good and old parrallel port. (DB-25 PIN CONNECTOR, PURPLE COLOR MOSTLY) But considering all the trial and error, dedicated plasma controller is the way to go.

You can index it using a job carrier against your jaw. Rest you job carrier against each jaw for indexing. Using a three jaw true chuck For production runs, you can outsource special cutters for two start or four starts.

@@geardr158 In my setup, i dont change speed because i cut only one type of thread. However, you can always put a VFD on running motor for speed variation.

Yes there were. Computer could not handle the pilot arc peak in rush current. Changed the control to a dedicated plasma control system.

@@danielbichokov1340 search for F2300 B PLASMA CONTROLLER You can find manuals online for this system. It is a very popular and economical system where i live. Most small industrial units are using this. Remember to Ground your machine. It will solve half the problems. Plenty of information online in various forums for proper grounding.

It is a Pederson make universal milling I bought it for Rs. 2.8lacs used with a used indexing head. Cutter was purchased and reground for Rs. 18k. Motor and Gearbox setup cost about 16k. One control panel for starting the motor with overload relay and automatic stopping using a limit switch costed around 4k. You can add up the cost and do the math.
