The best possible performance would have been to just add a second 8gb stick of memory into the empty b slot, instead of only one 16gb stick. Using two sticks allows the memory to run in dual channel mode which gives a slight bump in performance versus one stick (very slight). The only reason to buy one 16gb stick is to have the option of adding a second 16gb stick later on. But this laptop does not have enough oomph to really take advantage of that much memory 99% of the time. In fact, I really doubt 16gb is really needed or offer any real world advantage. So to sum up. Two 4gb stick outperforms one 8gb stick, and of course, two 8gb sticks will outperform one 16gb stick and so on. Also keep in mind, smaller capacity memory modules usually cost less than larger, so yet another reason to add a second 8gb stick versus one only 16gb stick (Best performance for less). And there is always the option to step up in frequency with the ram, or adding sticks with lower latency or both. But for the majority of users, the best performance, and best bang for your buck would be to add a second 8gb stick and call it a day.

This was a pleasant surprise. I found it while searching installed programs on my Ubuntu Linux machine. I recently acquired a Brother monochrome printer/scanner/copier, and found it came with a nice GUI control interface for Windows, but not for Linux. Now that I’ve found the Gnome printing scanner program, I’m in business.

Good video, thanks for making it. I have this board in one of my Linux builds. A question, though: You kept saying that the onboard M.2 slot supported "thirty two gigabytes per second" transfer speeds. Are you sure that isn't actually "gigabits?"
@TechBizmo4 ай бұрын
It is gigabits. You’re right. 😉

just got one of these from amazon for 300can dollars. I got it with i5 6300u, 8gb ram, 256 ssd, and the qhd touch screen. kinda worried that they arnt going to send me the nice one with the qhd toucn screen, but ill find out in a couple days. Its for my gf, her current laptop is basically unusable, being a hp steam with 4gb ram, a dual core Amd bulldozer based cpu, and 32gb of slow storage.

in english:This video explains how to do it in a slightly cumbersome way, first you must scale the desktop by 2x in appearance. and then do it in display properties and set the scale to x1.5 for example. en español: este video lo explica para hacerlo de una manera un poco engorrosa, primero deben escalar x2 el escritorio en apariencia. y luego hacerlo en propiedades de pantalla y ajustar la escala a x1.5 por ejemplo.

Probably won’t get a reply, but hp has been a fucking nightmare. I’ve tried contacting support because my printer’s ink won’t dry, and it’s been considered a hardware failure, however in order for me to get a new printer shipped to my house, the guy wanted my full credit card number?? Is this normal?? I don’t even want a new printer at this point. I just want a refund. I have no idea what to do.

PopOs was the only distribution that made me pull the plug off Windows. I found it to be really good for productivity. As well as the fact that despite its simplicity, its still very feature rich. I can't wait for the new COSMIC DE. Its gonna elevate it even further as well as fix the annoying aspects of Gnome.

Document Scanner says "No Scanners Detected" despite it being plugged in. Run into a missing dependency to install the specific driver from HP's provided installer and an unsupported file when trying to install SANE's extras library since it's outdated.

They are necessary for preventing the SSD/HDD from falling out of the slot. Could be a lose connection as a result.

Hi, tks a lot after watching your video. I have a small question, what is the maximum capacity of storage does e7470 support? And can i use NVMe SSD instead of SATA SSD?
@TechBizmo8 ай бұрын
Yes you can! I'm not aware of the maximum capacity, however I've seen many of these with 1TB NVME or SATA SSDs. Hope this helps!
