awesome, I'm working thru your Astonishing book and love how the characters are coming to life, so I can't wait to read thru SFAM. also question: where did you get the beanie? Also another question, I love your longform lyrical/musical analyses, would you do this for other albums in DT's catalogue? EDIT: ooh, I see you already did this for Images, please keep it up, I love it! If you did literally every album some day, that would be, well....astonishing.

I thoroughly enjoyed the long-form Astonishing video (yes, I watched the whole thing although it was over a couple days) and am looking very forward to watching this video in its entirety so I will put aside 5 hrs this weekend to check it out. Take care Peter. Absolutely LOVED the book!

Happy New Year! 🎉 Big shout out to you man for being a positive and passionate podcast that’s not either super political or self-help structured. I finished the Images And Words in depth video and re-listened to a lot of your stuff (James, John and Roy Khan among others). All the best man! I consider you as the secret 6th member of DT. I’ve also listened a lot to the Awake album which I think is often overlooked so close to Images. Would love a in depth analysis of Awake! Best, Øyvind from Norway

Peter, I forgot to add, what you said about the track Don’t Look Past Me, you took the words right out of my mouth. It’s one of my favorite tracks from that era and of all time. But I have an especially deep affinity with James’ audition take. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard that version but it’s the one found on the Antiquities bootleg. To me that’s the definitive version, the way James soars on that take, it’s other worldly. Hearing that line, ‘if someone says their heart needs lifting, don’t ask how come, ask how high’’…with that power and heart, and in a live setting, holy shiz it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!
@peterorullianАй бұрын
Completely agree! It’s a beautiful and powerful lyric. And James gives it all its power with his incredible voice!

I came to the party rather late. But thank you for this, I GREATLY enjoyed this video. The sound, lyrics and themes of this album give me a warming sense of hope, especially since I’ve been rather low lately. Thank you so much.

Most underrated Dream Theater album, people just don't give it a chance. You have to listen multiple multiple times to truly understand because of how long it is. It never drags, unless you just don't truly know the music. Its their most melodic and most powerful album. And you'd be lying if you said it didn't sound like dream theater.
