The 5 year warranty on this XP model is a show stopper IMO. The KPV's have a 10 year warranty.
@BeeneEnergy6 сағат бұрын
Curious your thoughts on that. I think the grid the inverters have to be 10 years for financing and installers as they have minimums. I was looking at midnite and outback and it seems they are standard at 5 year. I mean don’t get me wrong 10 is better but maybe 5 is the industry standard for off grid.

What gauge is the wires that comes from the bms to the batteries? Thanks

I’m just hoping they come out with a 3kW LuxPower variant to replace the 3000EHV
@Time-TrvlrКүн бұрын
Exporting power, It is critical for the inverter to sequence the sinusoidal waveform with the grid. If it connects and is out of phase there is a short circuit up to the capacity of the inverter.

Is 70w ideal consumption a lot?
@BeeneEnergy21 сағат бұрын
No I think it’s reasonable. I was only ranting that it’s slightly higher than the 6000xp.
@lunatik9696Күн бұрын
In off grid mode you can run a generator as input to charge the batteries.
@BeeneEnergyКүн бұрын
Oh yeah that’s how you free up the gen port for an ac coupled device or smart load right? And off grid mode prevents back feeding the generator through the grid port. So many settings to change, lol.
@Solarbitcoin2 күн бұрын
why only 5 year warranty? Will it only last that long? interested in it but want something that will last
@BeeneEnergy2 күн бұрын
5 years seems to be standard for off grid inverters. Midnite and Outback are the same.

How are you liking it? I've seen it but haven't touched it. Any bugs you've had to deal with? Do you know if it's a rebadge of another brand or is it a Midnite original?

I have a Sunsynk (Deye) max 16 8:47 kW since May in the UK with 13kW panels. 60kW UFO batteries 🔋 been moist ever since charging my Tesla for free. The Sunsynk interface is amazing and can be programmed from your phone. I limited battery output to 100amps (5kW) and residual to make high loads can come from solar or grid or both at once, ie 3 inputs sources of energy which is crazy. Very impressed so far.
@davefroman47002 күн бұрын
I'd say the most exciting thing about this unit is the 50 amp smart load. If off grid people realize just how much heat they can actually store up for the winter? These things are going to sell like hot cakes.
@lifewithbootstrap20872 күн бұрын
only 2 mppts is kinda a drawback
@BeeneEnergy2 күн бұрын
That is going to be interesting. We going back to combiner boxes? Gonna need three strings of panels to max out an input unless it’s 650w 40voc monsters.

Glad to see you putting out more videos. I’m going to have to look at getting one of these next. Can you tie this one to the 6000xp to the 12000 or will it have to be two separate systems?

Thanks! I’m trying! I haven’t looked at paralleling but suspect it cannot parallel with the 6000xp.

The spec I am excited for is that it says 24kW AC pass through. I just want an inverter that can pass through enough power to run the big stuff that's not good for solar. I have been hoping tona oud getting an 18kPV. Since I bought through a reseller they won't give me the trade in deals.
@BeeneEnergy2 күн бұрын
Yeah and the fact two of them are less than a single 18kpv but double the ac output is pretty slick. I want to see double 28kw solar arrays on a double 12000xp, lol. Thats a beefy system.

They cut costs by saving just $0.50 per unit on smarter control boards, which ultimately leads to more frequent battery replacements. It’s a win-win for the company executives, but not so much for consumers.

So, this is very applicable to Typical 36-18volts solar panel to recharge cheap chinese power station which can only receive 12volts solar panel for recharging? If yes, the ampere will be reduced?
@BeeneEnergy9 күн бұрын
The hacked up strategy in this video trades voltage for current. So it turns into a "12v" panel at twice the current as the original panel. Same power.
@antonioabrego940310 күн бұрын
But if they’re grid tie and you lose power of grid How do they stay up ??So these are hybrid units?
@BeeneEnergy9 күн бұрын
Yes they are hybrid units so there is a separate load output that stays up in a grid failure.

Has someone made a video on how to configure MRs in parallel? (Or have a menu "recipe"? ) Keep getting parallel enable fail error...
@BeeneEnergy9 күн бұрын
Error handling on these things is inherently bad. For parallel you are supposed to have all settings exactly the same and both units on the same firmware. Then go into the parallel settings and when you set one to the primary it will have more parallel options then the other. There is a setting in there that says how many total inverters there are in the group (this will be set to the same number on both units) then there is an address that you assign to each inverter. This one will be different for each inverter. Hope that helps, not as good as a video but it's something!

The voltage conversion efficiency alone doesn't tell much if the MPP tracker adjusts the input voltage badly. My own experience is that the losses due to bad MPP tracking and conversion in cheap charge controllers are so high that a direct connection of solar panels to the battery is more efficient if the voltages match roughly. E.g. I've connected two 48 cell solar panels in series (Voc=64V) to a 15 cell LiFePO battery (~50V). With this configuration I do not even need a diode for blocking reverse current in the darkness, as the battery voltage seems to be low enough (at least at around 15 deg celsius).

@rm685722 күн бұрын
12W per panel. So during fall winter times it could be like 50-100Wh/day, Which is like 10% of 100ah of 12v battery
