Shorting My Megarevo Like Blockbuster Stock

Yeah good find. The arc welded the relay contacts. This happens to Air conditioning contactors, etc all the time. It wouldn't surprise me that as it ages it happens to other relays in the inverter. Sometimes the contacts just oxidize over and don't pass anything. I know its an older posting of yours, but I had to say something.

Good save & diagnosis. Had a similar relay failure on our outback radian , fortunately two weeks before the warranty expired. They shipped a whole new control board & one transformer module as the stuck relay allowed the transformer to cook. Thinking about changing over to the backup 12k growatt inverter now as our power needs are increasing and we quit trading power with the grid. Grid here is too poor quality power and I was always concerned it would eventually damage equipment.

Awesome information. Look forward to all your tips. I have just purchased a EG4 8k Hybrid that has been rebadged. Good hardware, Software is not where it should be. I did notice your little close to the wall with your Megarevo. Guessing your in temperature controlled environment. Manual saying 300 mm (11.8 inch's).

You're right, I was swapping it in place of another inverter and was lazy by not moving all the conduit to the right. It is inside which is why I'm not too concerned about it, but definitely not according to the manual!

Thats pretty good. A relay or two being damnaged is neat. Glad it wasent worse. Pretty smart to catch that.

Yeah I’m glad I didn’t blow traces or a mosfet or something. Relay is a bit of a best case scenario for me!

Thank for your video! I currently have the EG4 and the delta h6, I had them working together sending power to grid.. but the EG4 recently started smoking, contacted signature solar and they said Im not suppose to have them working together. Fortunately I had sent them pictures of my setup and they never questioned anything why had them tied to same sub panel. My question is how are you using both inverters together. I’m really new at solar and I’m learning the hard way.

Do you have a drawing on how they are connected? I presume grid of eg4 was connected to main breaker panel and delta was going to same breaker panel? In a way where if the grid went down both inverters would shut down right?

I need to do an update video as there was another firmware release that has resolved some problems for me. My pair have been working great in my peak shift scenario and I can even choose to export excess power once the battery is full which is nice. While they are definitely more finicky to get right than a sol ark the firmware is being improved and they’ve been working well for me. If you have a specific scenario you’d like me to test feel free to let me know. I intend to test scenarios before letting someone purchase one from me if possible :).

Great video! Can you help?!? I've been told my megarevo (8000w) is set at 60hertz output. However, I've just purchased a washing machine which runs on 50 hertz, and as a result the pump cannot disperse the water. Apparently, I can change the output hertz setting on my inverter to 50. I'm fully off grid Is this something you heard of and can you help? Thanks

I don’t remember seeing that setting. However the folk at Megarevo can change additional settings so you could try putting the WiFi dongle in, connecting it to the internet, and hitting up support to see if they can assist.

Since I see that you know a lot about inverters, I have a Megarevo 5kw and when the power goes out, it does not transfer charge to the home. Let's see if you can help me with that problem.

Yup, replace that puppy. You probably need hot air to warm that board, and the lead free solder enough to get it to flow.

Not hot air as these are through hole relays, but definitely a good desoldering station with a continuous suction vacuum.
