I need to rewatch Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and also Dogma. Good selection on the directors; Kevin Smith, Coens, and James Cameron. 2. True Lies, yeah I remember you said it’s not one of your favorites, Jamie Lee Curtis in this movie 😅. Thank goodness it’s finally on Blu-Ray, and also The Abyss, to add it to the collection. 1. True Grit, one of my most cherished memories from school was going to the movie theater on field trips, and I think the last film was when True Grit came out, most of my classmates wanted to see Tron: Legacy, and I wanted to see True Grit, but we ended up seeing Yogi Bear, and it took me years until I finally saw it, I also seen the John Wayne original, the one where he won the Oscar, frankly it was a lifetime achievement Oscar.

Hey Derek, only seen The King of Comedy, it’s great. I’m glad Joker (2019) exists, because that way casual moviegoers would hopefully watch King of Comedy and Taxi Driver. Oh we need to talk about that Joker sequel someday. Oh boy. I still haven’t seen Scoop, hey just saw your Criterion video, yes Gilliam directed 12 Monkeys, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and you passed by Brazil and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Ramona and Beezus is another movie with Selena Gomez and Joey King 😅. By the way, I just had a thought, you told me a while back that you weren’t a fan of La La Land, and would have been peeved had it won, would it still been in your Best Picture collection had it did?

OMG dude The Happening...I had no idea you'd only ever seen it the once. It is one of my absolute all-time favorites because I think it is one of the most hilarious films ever...intentional or not? I adore it; hope you find more fun in it the next time you give it a go!

Yes! I have seen all three of them. 3. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, fun fact, it is based on the book by Ian Fleming who wrote the James Bond novels, and Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, etc) wrote the screenplay, good old Dick Van Dyke is still alive, like you said, and as I’m writing this, he’s going to be 99 years old next month, and yes I remember the guy from the nose. Interesting fact about Danville. 😊 2. Dawn of the Dead, definitely the film that put Snyder on the map, I said that I wished we had Romero’s movies on Blu-Ray in one collection. 1. Guardians 2, I don’t mind that it gets pulled often, although I would love to know your thoughts on the first in detail, you mentioned Mary Poppins, was that intentional? Hehe.
@PureHangout2 күн бұрын
@@angelcastaneda529 I never caught that Ian Fleming wrote the book. That’s cool! We definitely need all the Romero films in a single box set. That would sell so well I believe. Yes I should rewatch the first guardians and give it a full review.
@angelcastaneda5292 күн бұрын
He sure did, Roald Dahl also wrote the screenplay for the 5th James Bond movie, You Only Live Twice. We discussed that I think last time, the box set, I rewatched it last year, and it is really good. I don’t blame you if they’re your favorite, I was surprised my mother loves them too, usually it’s not the Guardians movies we talk about when discussing the MCU.

Derek, good selection on the directors. I haven’t seen The Number 23 yet, but I know Jim Carrey missed out on Disney’s Meet the Robinsons, that’s what I’ve been told anyway, I have to read that again. “Ripley from Alien 3!” Sorry, had to quote Deadpool, yeah what a disappointment compared to the first two films in the franchise, they began to drip from quality, but David Fincher has disowned it, but without it, we wouldn’t have his great filmography. Absolutely, I kind of like Tootsie more than Gandhi and E.T., just because I would have loved to see a comedy win, but had E.T. did, it would have been the best film of the 80s to win Best Picture. I agree with Carol Burnett, it should have been a five way tie. I just rewatched The Terminal for its 20th anniversary, and Spielberg even at not his best, really captures human stories. E.T. is easily the best of the three, sorry David Fincher. 😊.
