Miracle on 34th Street (1994) synopsis explained - Six-year-old Susan Walker (Mara Wilson) is skeptical of the Christmas myth surrounding Santa Claus, a trait she perhaps learned from her mother, Dorey (Elizabeth Perkins). When tasked with hiring the Santa who will pose with kids at Macy's, Dorey enlists a man with the curious name of Kris Kringle (Richard Attenborough) who claims to be Santa himself. His assertions are met with scoffs and threats of institutionalization, but a young lawyer, along with Susan and Dorey, comes to his defense.
Santa Claus: The Movie (1985) synopsis explained - In ancient times, a man named Claus (David Huddleston), who delivers toys in his small village, fulfills his destiny to become Santa Claus after meeting an expert toy-making elf, Patch (Dudley Moore), in the North Pole. In the present day, Santa Claus has become overwhelmed by his workload, and the disgruntled Patch flees the workshop to New York City. There, Patch unknowingly threatens the fate of Christmas by taking a job at a failing toy company run by a scheming businessman (John Lithgow).
Trapped In Paradise (1994) synopsis explained - Fresh out of prison, Alvin (Dana Carvey) and Dave Firpo (Jon Lovitz) pull their brother Bill (Nicolas Cage) back into a life of crime. But the siblings' foolproof bank heist takes a tailspin when Alvin gets lost in the getaway car. That's how the criminal nitwits wind up trapped in the snowbound burg of Paradise, Pa., on Christmas Eve with a bag full of stolen cash. With suspicious police on one side and hospitable townsfolk on the other, could a change of heart be far away?

Hey Derek, if you’re reading this, it’s Thanksgiving Day. Happy Thanksgiving day brother, your family and our lovely film community. I have been meaning to watch Trapped in Paradise on KZbin in December, and I was hoping during the holidays, it comes back for free so I can watch it. But I have seen the others, I actually have seen both Miracle on 34th Street, but I don’t have them in my collection yet (its Kohl’s), but I would love to, imagine people’s confusion of having them both. 😂. While I have seen the original more, Best Picture nominee, hello, the remake has Richard Attenborough, I think this year would have been his 100th birthday. You forgot Mara Wilson. Oh I know who you’re talking about, James Remar, he was in Dexter lol. Can I have a complaint about Santa Claus The Movie, so I had this drama teacher in high school, who totally forgot John Lithgow’s name and I said “John Lithgow!”, and despite me saying that, my drama teacher said that I didn’t know him, and I was thinking of this movie where he goes red, and says “for free?!” 😂. The Big Lebowski as Santa lol, yeah I had that conversation where good old Jeff Bridges is the Dude. Oh and Burgess Meredith and my mom really liked Dudley Moore.

@@angelcastaneda529 I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, Angel! I wonder if you will like Trapped in paradise. Definitely didn’t work as well for me during my viewing last year. Yes! And a wonderful BP nomination it was! I think I would’ve guess Attenborough would’ve already turned 100. So that’s interesting news! Glad you know the difference between The Dude and The Big Lebowski.

Thank you, Derek. It was very nice, nothing too big, but it was nice being with the folks. I’ll watch it and I will let you know. I’m torn if I wanted Miracle to win, we discussed last year, but Gentleman’s Agreement covers a very touchy subject, yes it’s dated, but I kind of want to give it to Gentleman’s, just because it was risky to tell that story. Still love Miracle, I wouldn’t mind if people would give it BP. Yeah his brother is still alive, David right? Of course, his Dudeness, Duder, El Duderino if I’m not in the whole brevity thing. Love it. 😂

I think I have only seen the remake of Miracle on 34th Street once, but I don't remember much about it.

@@davidhollingsworth4665 it has some flaws here and there, but still enjoyable. Cute little film. The tropes they apply to the villain are so funny, because they’re so sincere, I love it.

@@ajsmovieplace must not have been. You should definitely check out Santa The Movie. It’s got that great 80s texture.
