This was released before his death as a cautionary tale to his friend. I think it is relating to drug use and had got out of control and Michael getting Paula Yates into drugs very quick and hard when they first got together.

@beckysnails1324 Well, remember that after Michael was assaulted and that huge head injury, He completely changed his behavior and became someone completely different from when he was before that. I believe this song has to do with this situation as well.

Remember family and friends didn't know about his head injury until very much later on not until 2007 or so. His sister didn't know and she was very hurt Helena didn't tell her. Saying "You've got a lot to answer for" is generally said in England in a negative blame tone not a positive tone, it represents this person was angry at the other person.

@beckysnails1324 i agree, but they did notice his behavior and mood changes, and from a nice happy guy, he became a bipolar and prone to react type of person, his priorities chaned as well and that deeply affected, in my opinion, his friendship with Simon.

Simon's a little pitchy in the intro.. There's a KZbin video explaining the original because slightly above and below pitch of the original, creates a cool tension (one of the reasons for a Bond song).

@toostroke1 he has some issues after the all you need is now tour, I am not sure but I think he had some type of surgery but he healed and did lots of therapy and he sounds now better than ever!
